Why are YOU getting Skyrim for the 360?

Post » Fri Jul 01, 2011 12:29 pm

I've noticed that many people are getting Skyrim for the 360, and I'm wondering why? I'm getting mine for the 360 because it's what I have, and I'm too cheap to get anything else. :P

So what about you? Price? Brand loyalty? It's what you have? Something else? Let us all know, it might end some rants by PC players about mods, who knows. :ahhh:

I'm getting it for the 360 because I have had mine for over three years and it's the only thing I have that can play Skyrim.

360 because ever since I started higher education I have only had a laptop instead of a great desktop.

My computer as of now can't run Oblivion with decent graphics, so it sure as well won't be able to run Skyrim. :(

Because I lack a decent computer that wouldn't lag like crazy, because I like the 360's controller compared to a keyboard or PS3 controller, I lack a PS3, I'd prefer my plasma screen to my computer monitor and various other reasons.

1. I don't have a gaming PC
2. It's more practical
3. Cheaper
4. While mods are nice, it's not a necessity to me. I can still enjoy the game greatly without 'em.
5. Xbox is a lot more reliable.

Hell of allot more comfortable to sit in the lounge with my 40" LCD and couch then an office chair and 17" monitor.

Don't have a decent desk top.

Can't be bothered with a PC.

Mods don't bother me, I never use them anyway. (had morrowind and Oblivion on PC years ago)

360 works as well as anything, Graphics aren't hugely important. And with the correct settings on the 360 the graphics are quiet good. (running 1360 x 768 provides FAR better quality textures then the normal 720p or 1080i)

This, just swap "crap computer" for "mobile phone" and add "plus the controller hurts my hands when playing anything other than heavy rain" to the end...

I'm getting it for the 360 to resist the temptation of any mods that will come up within the first 3-4 months. After than I will be getting it for the computer, for said mods.

Not with a 6month old baby to get into everything you can't ;)

Also thats incredibly inconvenient rigmarole just to play a game, thats exactly the same on the 360 as it is the PC minus some fancy graphics.

We know, but that doesn't change the fact that PCs are still more expensive, they're more of a hassle, and having a 360 is just more practical, in my opinion.

However, if I had a gaming PC, I would definitly buy Skyrim on it. Sadly, my gaming laptop broke :(

So 360 for me.

Agreed.

Would be a waste of my surround sound system also.

Exactly.... Since I've been playing on my 42" LED screen for quite some time now. Oblivion fully modded using an Nvidia GTX 580 on a HDTV looks..... too incredible to describe.

Anyways, I wasn't going to post on this thread but that comment by soop... well, was bait. I've got nothing against the 360, I just happened to be a PS3/PC owner. (I'll probably get Skyrim on both eventually)

I need to get me one of those.
Might go have alook at lower end setups today actually.

Its not very convenient to have to transplant a desktop into my lounge every other day just to play a game...
I mean i've done it before in the past, and its just, meh. You still have to use a keyboard and mouse to get INTO the game and it just makes everything clunky and annoying.

My PC probably won't run it and because it is much easier to get into with a console. Put in game, watch it shimmer to life on the big tv, feel the roar fill the living room and enjoy with easy to use controller. I know some people have it simple on computer but for me it would not be simple. When i update to a better computer I might get it if it is awesome as Oblivion in order to add mods and construction set.

Because I played Morrowind on the Xbox and Oblivion on the 360. I actually have to buy a new 360 in order to play Skyrim. Wish me luck.
