Area 51 is to far away from Las Vegas to be in the game map. Don't worry chances are it will show up as a DLC.

If it is it better not be the "Mothership Zeta" of Fallout NV.

From Vegas to area 51 is 125.9 miles so what you think he's gonna walk that far

Agreed. Good God, that was an abomination of an expansion.

If they could make a "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pandorum" style Vault that would be aces... I'd hate another aliens spoof like Zeta.

I'd like to see an abandoned Area 51, yes. It could be like a horror DLC or something. But I would never ever like to see any Mothership Zeta aliens again! Maybe you see something like http://www.oocities.com/eventmovies/id4deadaliens.jpg, but cracked and with the skeletons on the floor.

lol, are those the aliens from independence day? at the scene where there in area 51? not that I don't like the idea, just thought it was a kinda funny...

I wouldn't mind an Area 51 DLC, and it's probably inevitable... and for that reason I'm kinda glad it isn't on the NV map.

vision I have for Area 51. Surface very radioactive with storms like you have at hidden Valley. Hangers and other buildings are nothing but ruins but there are bunkers to explore. Area is home to feral glowing ghouls. Deeper into the ruins you come across a a large hole with even more Radiation that goes down many stories. Soon you come across a bunker. Inside is an elevator.Takes you down to the first floor of Area 51. Ruined offices and such. Inside are http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Sentry_Bot_(Fallout_2) protecting the place. Lazer and gun turrets as well. Inside is still radioactive. Second floor you come across normal glowing ghouls armed with plasma weapons as well as other robots. After some more floors you come across a large Vault. Not built as part of Project Safehouse but built to protect the workers and researchers at Area 51. The nuclear weapon that hit the base damaged the vaults nuclear power plant which is why the base is still very radioactive after the war.

Before you open the Vault door a Ghouls voice comes over an intercom. Tell you that you don't have a chance past this point but you do have something they want (quest item) The Ghoul is impressed you made it this far. If you agree to put your weapons away they will not attack you and open the door.

You agree and the door opens. Inside you are greated by glowing ghouls with many different types of weapons, armours and lab outfits. The Ghoul talking to you has the Body of Sentry, if you attack him he can go stealth like a Nightkin. You later find out that Area 51 was where the government sent captured pre-war weapons and technology from around the world, alot form china. Many diferent types of aircraft.

Researchers survived the war in the Vault but the surface was hit as much or worse then then the Glow. Much of the under ground base was very radioactive. So they stayed in the Vault and lowest levels. Over the years they started running out of ways to fix the nuclear plant and ran out of rad-away and Rad-X. The Surface started becoming a "Hot-Spot" for ghouls in the area. Slowly the people of Area 51 became ghouls themselves and they just gave up on fixing the plant. Many did become feral or killed themselves long before ghoulification. Ones that stayed behind kept their sanity by researching and developing new tech from the captured tech by reverse engineering it over the years. They even found away to control feral ghouls.

Quest for the DLC starts by receiving a radio signal which takes you to an outpost. Populated by Shi. Talk to them and they want to hire you to explore the ruins of a base. They warn you that many that went never came back all but one man. He managed to come across a very strange piece of tech from a ghoul in a lab coat. (Quest Item).

The Shi can also give you information about what happened to them after FO2, there relationship with NCR. Why they are in Nevada and so on.

Anyways the every least the first part about radioactive sand storms would be awesome.

As the good reverend would say " Why we are on this particular mission, we'll never know. But I do know, here today, that the Black Knights will emerge victorious once again."

Love that movie :foodndrink:

I don't see whats so bad about aliens but i think there should have a little more of a story rather than just them shooting me and me killing them i mean was it to much for the Captain to at least tell me his evil plans before the big fight.

No, it would be the exact opposite.

I want to see area 51, but Area 51 is hard to write I think. THe biggest problem is not writing something that obvious and dirivative - that is aliems galore, or a rippoff of an action movie. Given that horror has been thrown around a few times now, I'm worried that it may be "too obvious" now.

Meh...I don't really want another Mothership Zeta. It was fun, the weapons were great, but really just pointless.

I think it would be cool to find some sort of device that the government was working on. (sort of like finding the G.E.C.K. in Fo3). Though I wouldd like there to be some aliens just for the fun of it. But like they make sounds and they can pop up out of nowhere. I do agree its extremely obvious though. I wouldve loved it if Bethesda asked the government to tour Area 51 to help them design the game. Then again this is all theoretical. There might not even be an Area 51 DLC

Consdiering the limited number of people that are allowed to even see the Groom Lake facility from a distance, that would never happen, and I doubt bethesda would be silly enough to ask.
