Why aren't there female Imperial soldiers?

Npcs refer to their siblings (who are women) being in the war but you never see female imperial soldiers only Stormcloaks.

It was probably an oversight.

Really, I'm glad to see no female imperial soldiers. If they are anything like that Imperial Officer at the start of the game, I say good riddance.

Isn't war considered a man-only job in medieval times?

TES is fairly different to the medieval times stereotypes. Just take a look at the FIghters Guild lists in Morrowind and Oblivion for all the proof you need.

Although considering Joan of Arc...

Stormcloaks aren't manly enough for war so the women stepped up to fight instead.

There are female Stormcloaks.

Nope. They're so manly that they need some women to balance it out.
Tullius balances out the over-manliness for Imperials, though.

Yet they made voices for them.

Joan of Arc was a fairly one-off event, Fighters Guilds being full of women shows a trend.

I'll cut your heart out, Stormcloak scum.

On a side note, anyone else find it strange that the EEC operates out of Windhelm? And one of the few Female Legionaries wanders the streets freely?

She's not an Imperial legionnaire if I remember, but a soldier of the EEC, which is an independent company

The main hub is in Solitude, yes, but they also have operations in Windhelm...

Because Romans don't employ women in their armies unless you count the crazy emperor Nero who tried to attack barbarians with a army of prosttutes.

Since the Legion are based of the Romans I assume it to be the reason why. When you look at Norse sagas you see plenty of female warriors which may be the reason why Bethesda put many females in Nord associated armies.

This is all speculation of course.
