why am i being punished if a want to explore the world? :(

Post » Sat Dec 05, 2015 8:17 am

...if i "accidentally" discover a power armor somehow, the game gives me a T-45 at early levels!

even if i don't touch it, it will from now on always be a T-45...

in other words, i have to avoid every possible locations for power armors and stick around sanctuary hills till i'm over level 30 in order to get a cool X-01 somewhere!

if i'm the exploring type, i'm being punished for doing that :(

this situation really spoils some fun for me^^

There are a lot more power armors than you think.

Also the bottom half of the map is tuned for higher level, so you won't be going there until later anyway.

AnD if you want X-01 just don't go to 35 court til you're level 30 or so

Well, there are plenty of them. And some of the spots, you wouldn't even come close at below level 25. X-01 can start spawning from level 26 or 28 (can't really remember) I catch what you are saying tho, but it will even out, since, you really only need one.

It's level based loot dude it has and will always be this way. They won't let you have an X-01 at level 3 dude, or a gauss rifle or a plasma rifle, your not being punished, some power armor locations stay t-45 for the whole game regardless of level. Keep playing, you'll find some X-01

You could up the difficulty, so would be almost impossible for you to explore the most dangerous regions.

Im in my second campaign and doing it in survival mode. Although I dont like the "sponge of bullets" factor (having to hit enemies dozens of times to kill), Im having a lot of fun because Im really afraid to walk away of Sanctuary and this make the game feel a lot more realistic.

imho a level requirement would have been a better choice^^

e.g. lvl1 - T45; lvl12 T-51; lvl20 T-60; lvl30 X-01

then it would be no problem if you accidentally discover a X-01 with lvl20!

you just have to remember to location and come back when you're 30 ;)

There are approximately 50 locations to find power armor and a few merchants that sell power armor frames.

... I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Wait... You mean power armor frames bought from vendors come with armor? I thought it was just a naked frame...

It is.

But you can buy pieces from certain vendors. I believe the AC sells X-01.

Just explore. Be free.

Worse case scenario you just use the console and spawn yourself some sixy X-01

i just went threw the strategy guide, and there are 39 locations that you can find lvled power armor in the game, and 3 locations have multiple sets. So there are 42 sets, not including the set you get at the beginning. So i wouldnt worry about it. I highly dought you will come across all of them before you reach lvl 28.

I had everything but the X-01 helmet.

I did a hell of a lot of exploring so I thought I had only one option if I wanted to complete the X-01 suit.

I stole from Teagan's shop. It had the one piece I was missing, the helmet!

There is a full suit of t-51b on a train right around the corner from Sanctuary so i don't think that hand placed suits are scaled to your level at all. Pieces found on NPC's or suits given by NPCs however...

Edit: Strategy guide says otherwise apparently.

if you find a set of armor, and come back, it will be the same type no matter what lvl you are. Game mechanics set the style based on your level when you come within a certin distance from it. So if you are close enough to know what kind it is, you are too close. and the strategy guide states that you will start seeing the x-01 at lvl 28

also, it is random to get a full set, or just pieces, except at court 35. That location will always spawn a lvled FULL set

I currently only have one set of T-45........I also have one set of Raider, 2 sets of T-60 (BOS & Atom Cats), 3 sets of T-51 (2 full and one partial) and 3 sets of X-01 (1 full and 2 partial). I also have a stolen frame which almost all the companions dislike me interacting with. I've never actually seen a second set of T-45 so far in the game and I'm level 51 at the moment.

you wont see t-45 anymore, you are too high level. All PA is lvl based. Except when an enemy is wearing it. I think this is stupid, the x-01 should only be in one spot, and it should be a pain in the ass to get. Or even some lengthy quest. The best armor in the game should not be lvl based and randomized

Hmm, you must ONLY explore points of interest because I have found 5 partial sets just sitting out in the open throughout the wastes. I have 11 sets currently and only 2 of them were full when i found them and one of those is from the first Minuteman quest.

I have gone back to two locations, one the federal supply where there is a raider in Power Armor and the other is a highway segment with Gunners. In both locations on my first visit i couldnt clear the baddies before someone got in the armor and i could only loot the T-45/Raider pieces afterwards. the second time i had to clear those spots i was able to take out the enemies before anyone got into their armors and i walked out with two nearly full sets of T-51 and T-60 suits. i am waiting to see if the third time i clear those locations the frames will respawn or not.
