Why is Bethesda not fixing console glitches

Post » Sat Feb 13, 2016 11:45 pm

instead of fixing the broken level 4 traders or the countless other glitches they're instead talking about making the environments destructible and increasing the fading distance

what the actual ****

last time i checked all the other games i bought got their problems sorted out long before they started adding new features. yet again Bethesda is giving console users the shaft and no one seems to care.

Do we have an actual list of glitches (verifiable across a large sample) for consoles that we can work with?

I don't mean glitches that are only experienced by a few. I mean glitches that effect globally (i.e. Monsignor Plaza, the Freeze glitch, Level 4 Vendor Glitch) and are from games that have not used exploits or cheats?

It would be interesting to see what the consistent glitches are at this point that have nothing to do with playstyle or cascade effects from use of exploits.

Example: I had heard that a number of folks were having trouble getting the bobble from Vault 75. After some discussion, it was determined that most of those folks had been using various exploits and that those may have caused issues.

Example: (solved) When going to Monsignor Plaza on quest related item, the game would crash. For everybody.

Example: Can't remember exactly where it was, but I think it may have been Trinity Tower - you enter an elevator and become stuck in it and can never get out. Admittedly, this wasn't for everybody on every platform, but the majority of people that tried it experienced it.

Example: Freeze glitch - again, 90% of people experienced it regardless of platform - where, when you killed an enemy while freeze was in effect that would normally respawn, it never would again. Apparently this carried over even in to new save files. I do not believe that this one has ever been solved.

Maybe if we can put together and actual list and provide screenshot or video backup along with a lead up to the situation text, we can get Beth to look at this stuff in the issues forum.

Just a thought.

My issue since the patch is that my fast travel points in most locations have changed. It's taking me a bit to get used to it.

Yes we do

go to the Xbox One hardware thread they [censored] every confirmed glitch posted by THE ADMINS

it's basically a big [censored] you to everyone who spent their money on this game

"We know these problems exist on a massive scale but guess what, we couldnt give less of a [censored] about your problems."

if they take so much time how come modders can fix these issues it like ten minutes

Because they dont?

Arthmoor and his team have been patching Oblivion and Skyrim FOR YEARS, and still cant manage to solve all the bugs in those games. The Blood on the Ice quest for Skyrim took like 6 revisions before they "fixed" it, and even then, ive seen people say they still have problems with it for reasons no one can figure out.

I am surprised this patch didn`t make Settlement any more stable.

Things still get destroyed and disappear for no reason in every settlement...... :nope:

if things are disappearing from shelves then look under the floors that you built. the 2 times that I've put things on shelves they've been there for a while then vanish, only to be found under the structures that I've built.

i thought this was something that was addressed in the console patch?

My dog dishes are still falling 2 stories to the ground when placed next to the doghouse. I RP that Dogmeat does it 'cause the food just tastes better at ground level. :)

What thousands of glitches have been fixed? As far as I know there is no sort of unofficial patch at this point and the only problems mods solved, such as the head shot perk, have been resolved by Beth via patches now.

Plus it certainly takes Beth time to get a patch together that addresses specific issues. I'm sure they have a process they must go through, and then test things out, and then wait for Sony and Microsoft to OK the patch, or however it is done. Things can't be fixed overnight, for sure, and some glitches people are experiencing, others are lucky enough to never experience. It's such a hit-and-miss situation. Yeah, I think it's kind of sad to hear that many glitches/bugs can only be fixed by modder intervention, which svcks for console players who are having a glitch-ridden experience. But for Beth to make an official patch, it certainly takes time.

At this point I leave all the Settlement Stuff/Minutemen Quests for last they are the most boring/time consuming features in game oh and wheres the option to actually repair your settlements Bethesda seriously you want the Settlement stuff to be great so why can't I repair the actual house's in Sanctuary you know Ceilings,Walls,Windows & Doors it just seems like that should have been an option at the start.

i can see why a modder might be able to fix issues faster/more efficiently than beth.

the modder is experiencing the issue and focuses on that particular problem while bethesda has to hear alot of different complaints and then try to figure out which ones are game breaking, frequent, only on certain equipment with particular hardwares and or software differences. and then they have to try to re-create the instance that caused it which isn't as easy as it sounds.

imagine receiving a hundred-thousand complaints, most of which are just "my game froze when barney hit me with the crowbar", or other uninformative blabbering. then they have to break it down to how many people (or synths, let's be fair here-synths are people too!), has pointed out a particular bug and then address said issue.

on top of that, they have to devote the (wo)man power to trying to find it and replicating it and then determining if it's substantial enough to devote (wo)man power to, to try and fix it.

a modder is a guy (or gal, or small team) that (as stated) focuses on one thing and addresses that one thing. and then makin cait take her shirt off too, let's not forget the importance of modding and why it was conceived in the first place! BOOBIES!! it's probably kind of easy too because every woman in the game looks the same.

I'm sure they have a mod that takes the guys shirt off too, for all you women out there!

Can be. Has been, by me, multiple (and I mean like 50) times. Has to be done in a very specific order and very specific way in order for it to work. It's a pain and 1/2 the time you don't even get the reward. Sheesh.

I do it mostly to clear out of the quest log.
