Technically we did see a Deathclaw climb a building in Fallout 4.
Bloodbugs fortunately, aren't even close to being as bad as those unholy abominations.

Yeah those bugs are ridiculous. If (a big IF) I see them first, I can usually take them out. If they swam me, or spot me first, I run.
1. Because their stings are poisoned, and ergo they ignore armor. Cazadors were one of the most dangerous creatures in NV for the same reason.
2. Deathclaws have been completely nerfed in FO4.
I had more trouble with Deathclaws in 4, than I did in the other two Fallout games :/
It's the first time where you have to actually avoid them in the early game
the only thing that makes combat easier against them, is the amount of interiors, we can flee into now
but other than that, they are more bullet spongy than ever and actually have an AI that flees when it can't reach you, which is impressive
combat shotguns work well against flying insects...I usually only die from ones that attack me from behind if I haven't noticed it..but usually in a swarm you can back peddle and pick one off, and repeat..(or just use VATS)
according to my little survival guide..the most dangerous bloodbug (vamparic) has a base health of 450+..DAM res. of 50...energy res. of 50...they do 60 damage with 15 poison damage...interestingly though stingwings have about half the health but do more damage, and poison damage is a lot higher, also stingwings reduce PER and AGL by 5 for 4 seconds with each attack..
now a regular deathclaw has a base health of 510+...dam. res. of 100, and 250 energy res...and they deal out 60 dam plus 40 if their rock hits you..
so a regular deathclaw (vs. a vamparic bloodbug) should be more dangerous...now a Mythic Deathclaw is a whole other story (especially a legendary one)...
huh, it's been a while since I looked at this survival guide I got..lots a interesting stuff...
I'm an internet gamer bad ass and I don't use VATS ever and I'm on Survival. I just use knuckles because bad [censored]... arrrrrse
Kremvha's Tooth works quite well as well. Poison for the poisonous.
I'd still rather face bloodbugs than a cazador swarm.
I thought the little buggers were fragile, until I used a minigun to fight one and it was still attacking me after I blew all of it's legs off.
I just VATs the insects, saves me a headache.
Unfortunately, it's a scripted action not something dynamic like a Deathclaw tossing a car for instance
Apparently the second time I visited the place, the Deathclaw was hanging from the side of the building and didn't climb up until I shot it.
this
they are small and agile very hard to hit even in VATS but they die pretty fast when you hit them
they are actually easier to kill in melee or unarmed combat but you need to be fast
I find mines can be somewhat effective at taking care of swarms of bloodbugs and bloatflies.
They generally won't set them off, but if you backpedal quick enough, drop the mine and either VATS it or lob a grenade or just be a really good shot, it'll thin them out a little and even cripple some of the tougher ones.
Plasma and bottlecap mines are the most effective.
Mine companion usual take care of these critters by using melee. I use missile launcher, hit 1-3 bugs at the same time, but I do have trouble to find their dead bodies and loot. Deathclaws too nerfed, they should be more dangerous. Someone posted about Skyrim's Chaurus. Deathclaws should be dealing the same dmg as these and have the same armor or more. Deathclaws in name; Claws of Death (CoD), but I see claws made of plastic (almost, I play on "hard" setting). So to have some challenge, try to take out a deathclaw with a pistol.... I will try this when I continue gaming.
Cheers,

They are my nightmare. Because they are more than one coming from several directions, are quick and afflict high damage (at least on Survival). I never use VATS, so I have to kill them with precise hits walking backwards or melee. I only have a scoped combat rifle as gun, so gunning is just an option up to a certain distance. One method is to use the chainsaw and run around frantically, doing permanent damage. They are only easy when they attack my companion but sometimes they do not.
The Sneak attack bonus makes a huge difference and having a fast weapon (10mm Pistol and maybe some VAT enhancing gear) helps. I normally sneak up behind them, line up the full 16 shots split btween all flies in the pack and get the bonus for all shots. That usually takes care of the swarm.
If that's not an option (a legendary or high hp mob in the swarm), then it's a Critical with the sniper rifle to kill the high hp fly. Then break line of sight by hiding behind a tree or wall and they either stop looking after a few seconds or come close and go after the companion. Usually I'm back to at least "Caution" at that point and can kill the rest again with the sneak bonus. This is on Survival, and yep. I've died more times on these flies or stingers than from mutants or ghouls combined.
Find it the other way around, deathclaws in FO3 was no problem killing with lincons repeater in VAT.
In FO4 its eiter to gaus them or use high dps weapons, assault rifle on auto, spray and pray works, exploding minigun does the same but faster. If they manage to get close they can easy kill you.
In FO3 close just made it easier to pin an series with headshots.
450 health is very much on an small hard to hit bug. Normal enemies like high level humans or deathclaws you can pump full of bullet shooting rapidly with an semi auto, its hard to hit so well against the bugs.
Yup, 450 is quite high for a bug...and weapon choice, and the ability to free-aim and hit bugs, does add an extra degree of difficulty...that's why I suggest using a shotgun against flying, hard to hit, bugs...I'm pretty good at FPS games, and rarely use vats, so they aren't too difficult for me...like I said, it's the ones that I don't notice, and attack me from behind that can be a little troublesome for me..
