Why is bread the only food you see people eating?

Post » Fri May 10, 2013 11:05 pm

Back in Oblivion whenever a character was performing their eating animation, a random apple would appear in their left hand and they would rip pieces off and stick it in their mouth. Now in Skyrim people are just munching on stale bread.

If Bethesda chooses to stick with one animation for eating in future TES games I hope the next TES has everyone eating Fishy Sticks. :D

Most plentiful food out there obviously. That and a tankard of ale. Bread will do them some good out in that climate.

I only wish console users had more animations. This bread is instantly dissolved in my stomach.

Bread makes you fat.

Wondering why Skyrim isn't filled with fat people.

Is there a mod that can replace that tankard with a proper goblet or glass? It's weird to see some of the upper class people drinking out of tankards.

Oblivion's was a piece of bread.

And vampires in Castle Volkihar eat bloody hunks of meat instead of bread.

Eh, looked like an dark apple the last time I saw it and apparently Serana still eats bread despite being a Volkihar vampire

They can eat bread and not get fat cause they work physically everyday. That sentence will only apply in today's era not skyrim's. They like basically walk or stand all day except for the Jarls..

Except the jarls, who just sit all slouchily on their thrones.

I would think some people in Skyrin would have mead-bellies.

It's not. It is explicitly called bread in its mesh name and editor ID.

And was Serana in the castle?

I think PriceShroob meant when you saw her eat bread. I imagine the animation involving eating the human flesh probably only activates in certain places.

I've never heard of a mod like that but it'd be cool to see it. Not many of the upperclass people seem to drink much, at least in my game.

They don't knead anything else, and they may not have the dough to buy other foods.

Sorry but trolling burns a lot of calories.

I think it's only those vampires in the main hall.

Must be very very buttery if they expect so many people to be fat living off bread.

Yeah it can, same as pasta since its a lot of simple sugars. Those make you fat. But this is Skyrim where working hard in every day, you'd only be fat if you're some kind of noble that doesn't do anything (*cough* Siddegir *cough*).

I think I'd be sick of bread when living there...

Ruined it. I was quoting Scott pilgrim.

Anyway I've not notice people only eat bread but I'm rarely in inns for anything but sleep. And my characters tend to eat on the road.
