Kill everything
Or all 3!
Its your game, you bought it, your play-style. I wouldn't really worry about others
teamwork, Ok you kill them, you loot the bodies, and I'll harvest the meat.
Because content is being dumbed down in order to cater to casuals, who obviously don't play the game that much and lack the training and game knowledge that an "elitist" has (aka basemant dwelling fat no lifer or w/e else mythical creature the nooblords like to think gamers who are better than them, happen to be)
Was playing Diablo 3 just recently. Ah, I remember Diablo 1 and 2 where it was actually possible to die. In D3 I find the most useless item I can find is the health potion.
Look at it this way...
A casual makes a group an elitist joins.....they all go into the dungeon/raid & do what ever they do.
An elitist makes a group, a casual joins...the casual gets kicked. ^ ^
^^Thats a major cause of friction between 2 types of player.
No, that's friction between a casual and a [censored]. In your example, elitist players don't hate casuals unless the word "casual" is used to describe a horrible player who is being carried by the group.
an elitist personality causes friction wherever it appears, whether in a game or in real life. A casual personality can get along with anyone and be happy in a variety of situations, whether in game or in real life. So called elitists need to just stay away from LFG ques and stick together in guilds with strict recruiting requirements.
They don't need to get along. Just coexist. Realize that how you play isn't how everyone else should play, mind your own business and just enjoy the game how you want.
My guess is because many people feel the need to refer to one or the other in derogatory terms such as "elitist".
I recall John Stewart observing that the problem with US politics isn't left vs right, but the extremists in each party. Applies here too. It's the 10% that produce 90% of the carry on.
people are different and arrogant.. everyone wants their way to be THE way.. it's as simple as that really..
SO true LOL. U forgot: A casual makes a group, an elitist joins...casual gets disconnected some seconds, gets kicked from the group.
But yeah I dont consider myself a casual nor an elitist so I dont care much.
Casuals and hardcoe folks DO get along and are found in the same guilds quite often. Just doesn't work on the forums since this is where you'll get all the crazy people who would rather cause drama. =)
It's real simple OP, I will not tolerate anyone dictating me on how to play the game. That's what elitists do. they feel "better" then everyone and try to lecture others.
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate advice. But there's always a fine line between the two.
also, there is a very big difference between casuals (they just have funsies!), min/maxing casuals (people like me, fun times and some idea of how to achieve true greatness without ever achieving it due to lack of time mostly, or because we're too busy being side-tracked), elitists (those who think they're awesome but are just bad) and min/maxing elitists (the ones who race everything, and then complain about too little content)
Not as simple as you're portraying it. Some people can be very deeply immersed in a game without wanting to 'win'. You're comparing PvP to to RP or PvE. More than just simply existing, I'd say there are many who don't PvP who could be viewed as 'hardcoe'.
Because people are waaaay too defensive and/or insecure. Basically.
