Why can't I move and duel-swing?

I prefer to duel-wield. The inability to block is okay for me, because I prefer to dodge as my primary method fo defense.

However, I just startede a new game, and ... every time I try to duel-swing, I'm stuck in one spot, like a master spell!

Ok, it only lasts for about a half a second, whereas master spells take three seconds to charge up, but that half a second is still a lot of time where I can be attacked. Although a sixth of the time of master spells, it's still pretty abysmal in terms of usability in battle.

Apparently, there's a skill perk that allows me to move while duel-swinging, because I haven't experienced this until I started a new game.

But... why? Why do they even have that? It makes it impossible to dodge incoming attacks!

You've always stood still when performing a power attack. It's never been different.

I don't think there's such perk. I guess they figure it would seems awkward for someone to move and swing two weapons at the same time, because you would not have much shoulder and hip motion to swing both weapons effectively if you're moving. Realism, right?

Dual Flurry speeds up your single attack and power attack, wihile Critical Charge that add even faster and more powerful power attack. The key to Dual Wield is to use your mobility: Strafe often, back up and dodge when your enemy wind up for a power attack, move in to svcker punch him. Dual Wield power attack is to stagger and overwhelm him.

If you use all three words of Elemental Fury, and with both points in Dual Flurry, your Dual Wield power attack should be as quick as your single weapon normal attack. And your single weapon normal attack's speed gets nutty.

And if you use a dagger on your left, and even a mace on your right, your Dual Wield normal attack and Dual Wield power attack would be just as quick as you were Dual Wielding two daggers.

I know how to dual-weild effectively. Dual-weilding has been my combat method of choice ever since the game came out. I don't need a lecture on dual-weilding strategy.

Ay! Sorry... I'm just obsessively comprehensive like that.

But I guess... yeah... Swinging both weapons while moving, realistically, just doesn't make any sense. Stand up and try. You might be able to slowly walk and swing effectively with both hands, but jogging speed (which is the default speed) and above, you have to put your shoulder and hip into running and not enough into swinging.

And there goes my OCD again...

PS: But I'm pretty sure you can do a dual wield power attack backwards, but you would still move backward at a very slow speed.
