I find it strange in a game that gives you so much freedom that I can't drop one of my mini nukes on the ground and then shoot it so that it explodes.


The reason why I would like to be able to do this is to use them more like a powerful land mine where I can place a few about an enemy encampment without getting spotted and then from a distance shoot one of them and watch as a chain reaction of each mini nuke triggers another mini nuke to explode.


The same aplies to grenades as I can shoot a grenade that's getting thrown at me but can't shoot one of my own for some reason.


So do you think this needs to be addressed by bethesda to give us even more freedom and different ways of bringing down an enemy camp?

In case you don't know, you actually can shoot grenades that you throw yourself. Easiest way is to open VATS right after you throw it.

I highly doubt any of this will change in future patches, you'll have to find a mod that will do it.

That's not really the concept I'm looking for. Placing it on the ground and then shooting it when I feel like is what I'm looking for.

No idea if it would work, but did you try placing mininuke next to a mine, then shoot the mine? I know you can shoot mines. I am not sure if exploding mine would trigger explosion of mininuke thou.

Not tried it but it means doubling up on nukes and mines. Ideally I should be able to shoot a nuke that's on the ground. Even cars and lorries blow up in the game. Why can't my nukes?

To be honest, blowing cars are nonsense. Equally, in real life you wouldn't be able to explode nuke just by shooting it.

technically, that's not how nukes work. Just shooting them with a gun probably wouldn't cause one to explode. Getting one to go off and create the chains reaction is actually a fairly complicated thing. Nukes don't explode cause of impacts
