Why not just give the character infinite carry capacity, reveal all the locations on the map to begin with and display all the quests. Start you off with the best weapons, ammo and apparel.
The game is meant to be about exploring, finding locations, defending yourself, knowing when to run and when to fight. Knowing what you can and cant pick up. Thats what makes the game so great.
I gree, no more hand holding.
Go find a safe house, earn the spot to store all the good stuff and play by trial and error. Assume that any crate, unless you own the room, is gonna be looted by someone at some point. I mean, damn it if someone else isnt doing exactly what your doing.
Look, this isn't difficult.
In some games, Oblivion for one, some containers aren't safe to put items in. Cool? The contents will respawn, and what you placed into it will disappear. Okay?
In other games, this doesn't happen.
It's not fun to place items into a container, play for multiple hours, and then come back to find your stuff gone. Still following?
In the first few days of FONV release, many of us were wondering if containers were safe or not. While they appear to be now, no one really knew at the time.
Some of us suggested that it would have been useful to let the players know if the containers were safe or not. Okay?
I mean, why some of you seem to think this is an affront to your gaming religion is beyond me.
The "No More Hand Holding!" crowd is grating on me. I've been playing on hard/harcore since the day the game came out, and I don't need my hand held. Why is it a moral defect if I'd like to know if containers respawn every three days or not?
You know what--seeing that you seem to be so offended by this, how about if I run the rest of my playstyle past you first from now on. I mean, I wouldn't want to use VATS or too many stims if you're going to be offended by it.
