I hate 'em for hypocrisy. What hypocrisy, you may ask? Here we go...
They treat women like crap, while the Romans treated them well.
They treat slaves like crap, although Rome had laws against the abuse of slaves, and generally treated them better.
They seem to shun technology, which, again, is quite un-Roman.
Caesar doesn't realize Hegel wanted history to move toward a brighter goal, not a darker one.
I can't imagine them liking cars too much.
They think the basis of a failed empire can be weakened and still be a successful body of governance.
In conclusion, they are basically a large body of tribals who think they are the "be-all, end-all" to the wasteland's problems. They don't actually care about educating people for any reason other than war, they treat women like crap, they shun advancements in technology, and they probably don't shower.

One explanation as of why I can't: Because the ends do not justify the means.

It's the same reason why I could never full out support the W-BOS, or House, or the NCR (as it stands today that is.)

The only thing I don't like about Caesar's Legion is the harsh treatment toward the slaves and the hate towards technology. But that's it.

My reasons...
You cant reason with them,
There too old fashioned and seem to be heading backward in time instead of progressing into the future,
They have contributed nothing towards the people and enslave them for there own needs,
They are all brainwashed into believing Caesar is some sort of god. :bowdown:

well done on the options, very funny.

i chose slavery as my number one reason. the legion's treatment of people (even it's own) is far too viscious in general. plus they are a great enemy to fight, i only wish there were more of them.

Hey those Khans were causing problems, then they would run back to there village. Not the NCRs fault the Khans didn t want to duke it out like men, but ran back to there women.

In war people die........... Plus Khans are dirt bags anyway. They helped Benny kill me. NCR didn t do a good enough job at bitter springs the way I see it. There are still Khans left I have to waste bullets on.

The only things that I don't like about the Legion is the slavery and when you're preforming surgery on Caesar then something goes wrong and he dies, then someone confronts you in a hostility way thinking you killed him on purpose even though you was trying to save his life. Then again, the Legion devotes their lives on the battlefield and lack of feelings or emotions towards others (besides Caesar).

I dislike Caesar and his legion and killed all of them for the same reason I disliked Alistair Tenpenny and killed him and his goons; they're insane old men with idiotic ideas on how to improve the world and what remains of civilization is better off without them.

Wow this thread is certainly holding together better than I would have thought it would, especially after the pro real life slavery comments. But the reason I can't support the Legion is because of the way they treat their own people, the comment that pushed me over the edge was Caesar saying that no one in the Legion had any other value than what they could offer to the state. Thats not a belief thats going to die with time like some people keep saying, thats one of the foundations of the entire organization.

The Roman influence is what turned me away from them.It was honestly the only thing that I hated from them.They had the "power-hungry conquest" group which I love...the theme of their group just didn't fit in with the game IMO.I would have preferred if they took a more modern militaristic-look instead.Sort of like the Nazis.

Since that Fallout even had ghoul fanatics (Tactics) and Hubologist (Fallout 2) a Roman themed faction is totally normal in this game

I support the Legion despite not liking slavery, torture, sixism or oppression of free will.

I support Legion for despite disliking the Slavery,crucifixtion and other things, but I like how the dislikes alcohol and chems (addictives) and how they dont always relies on guns

I have sided with every faction except for the Legion and i prefer the NCR mainly because their main quest line is awesome, and i don't like the Legion because of Nipton and they are hostile to NCR I also forgot to mention that they only let men fight in the Legion.

I wish I could choose more than one:

1: They're anti-intellectual.
2: Their treatment of those who are not in peak physical shape is abhorrent.
3: Their treatment of women is abhorrent.
4: Their modus operandi is imposition of absolute cultural homogeny
5: They're nothing but glorified war dogs
6: Their leader is a megalomaniac indulging his childhood fantasy
7: Their leader is a hypocrite
8: Their leader chooses animals to be their seconds in command
9: They use cruel and unusual punishment

They are a regression. They are barbarians. They are organized beyond being just petty tribals solely because of the person mentioned in #6.

That anyone supports them is just so mind-boggling to me, and IMO needs a very hard Gibbs-style :slap:. Even if you're a legionnaire, you're still a slave to the self-aggrandizing manchild with a brain tumor, you just think you aren't.

As a parting thought, I imagine the lot of us here would be like Kenny Weathers would have ended up: as "someone's b&#$@".

I hate them for all the reasons you stated (except attire, "they're the enemy," and religion), but I voted for slavery. Slavery, no matter the circumstances, is evil and immoral. It's why I destroyed Paradise Falls in FO3, and why I destroyed any presence Caesar's Legion has in FONV.

The way that Caesar treats the legionnaires, training from childhood, drilling in "LEGION LEGION LEGION LEGION LEGION" from the onset, and how they never even know their fathers or mothers... it's more like putting down a wild dog when you kill one than killing a human.

This a videogame, we can support evil factions if we want, not like that we re evil for that.

As for anti-intellectual I disagree in that part, Since that Caesar does know how it was NCR before becoming the NCR, oh and their skill on melee weapon is something to admire

Caesar is pretty much the only intellectual. Which is par for the course, seing that it's his childhood fantasy of being a god.

And I usually gun them down before they get to melee range. Don't bring a rusty lawnmower blade against someone packing hot green plasma.



Sparta didn't spread forth like a virulent cancer stamping out every culture not their own.
