The topic of Caesar's Legion is one that is discussed endlessly with many here on the boards giving only partial support, if any at all, to the Legion for many reasons. What I attempted to do in this poll is get a better feel for why those people that do not or cannot support the Legion feel that way.

Please select the choice that you feel best fits you along with a brief description of why you feel that way. Again, please pay no attention to the humorous statements after the poll options as they're intended keep the poll a little light hearted

I don't hate them personally, their original goal is admirable, but the way they go about it is to barbaric and savage for my tastes. My only reason I pick a fight is when they step in my way because I support House. I'm a pretty 'You leave me be, I leave you be' kind of person. Unless it's a raider or other anarchic violence causer then I pretty much let them be.

My view of them is similar to my view of the Pitt raiders and their leader; his goal is admirable, but the means by which he pursues them are not acceptable. Slavery and extreme punishments are not the way to move the world forward.

Even if Ceasar looks like someone you could discuss philosophy with, his Legion is just a band of thugs
standing on Courier 6 path. Before me to like them, they should attack in formation, adopt tactics,
have big, thick square shields, wield cross-bows and more throwing weapons... And be dangerous!
They should be building paved roads, marketplaces, theaters and stop taking slaves and strapping
folks on telephone poles.

After Nipton, just as I met the next bunch of Legion members I started shooting.

They are weak! I will show them what happens when you forsake technology!

But seriously, they are an army of slaves that conquers everybody they come into contact with and kill those who resist.
They're like the NCR, except they wear skirts.

But.....I like them.....

I don't like the slavery... i don't like anything that they do, but slavery is probably the worst, imo.

I wish the legion had more soldiers for me to fight, i don't think they have any respawning ones :/

Slavery. I don't care what the rationalizations they may have for it are, it's wrong. Get rid of that first, and then we'll talk.

The #1 reason I hate the Legion is that they are the weakest fighting force I have ever seen in 24 years of playing video games.

I m not fighting lore in game. Their men are all scrubs or grossly under equiped to be in a serius game with modern weapons and weapons of the fo future. Lanius,Ceasers tent,and the Centurions on the dam were the only hard members of cl. I feel they were very poorly done by Obsidian devs. If the engine couldn t do what the Obsidian devs wanted to do, then they should have made up a different bad guy group that shot back. They are just dumb, and I never want to see an abortion like them in fo again.

I picked other because I do support the Legion. The Legion are the only one caring for a brighter future for the entire wasteland, sure Mr. House is creating a better future but its for Vegas only. People don't see the Legions good intentions, all they see is that they are slavers and the fact that they kill/crucify people.

EDIT: @ II The Rook II.... Weakest fighting force? Are you serious? The Legion is one of the strongest forces in the wasteland! And they don't even use the tech that most other factions use! The Legion are brutal warriors, how could you even think they are a weak fighting force.

They're basically Raiders.

I killed Raiders in Fallout 3.

They're slavers and according to Slave Hunting Zombie Lincoln, that's bad.

Plus, I like girls. The Legion is mean to girls.

So, I suppose that pretty much makes a trifecta.

There not Raiders. They have similar methods to Raiders but there goals are extremely different. Raiders kill others for profit. The Legion kills those who are corrupt and have nothing to offer, oh and those who oppose them with disrespect/hostility. Raiders aren't looking for a brighter future for mankind, the Legion is.

I dont generally dislike them, I don't see why I would dislike them for having gay troops, but.. Whatever.
I loved the whole terrorism angle about the Legion, but they didnt have enough quests IMO.

The Legion doesn't have gay troops. Homosixuality is punishable by death in the Legion. The Legion wants to breed other Legionaries, they aren't going to be able to do that if there troops are having gay six . Not hating on gays or anything. I has quite a few gay friends.

Plus, if they can't create a society that's not based/dependent on slavery to keep things running, in my eyes, that makes them weak. And I'm not talking about army strength.

Simple, they get in my way. Even doing the Yes-Man ending, the NCR left me alone until the last possible moment where Legion was going "nu-uh son!" the whole way. They were stepping stones to my dominance. I'm doing a house playthrough now, chances are they'll get in my way again and if the NCR does I'll savagely gun them down too.

I realize the wasteland is pretty much a free-for-all out there and different people have different idea's on how to stabilize the world. Just don't get in my way and we're cool. Also, I'm amassing a machete collection and they won't give me them willingly.....so.......... :biggrin:

Oh but the ends do justify the means my friends, they do indeed. And they aren't dependent on slaves. They use slaves so they can focus on military strength. Caesar doesn't want his troopers moving equipment around and cleaning [censored] up. No he wants them to train and fight so he gets slaves to do all the "housework" for the Legion. And I don't really care about slavery. If slavery was legal I would have some slaves myself.

This is dependency.

I can't believe I just read this. Seriously.

My biggest gripe with the Legion is during the battle inside the dam, where you can't crouch to sneak or fire without getting a face full of buttocks.
