yea but i think it would be cool to put a cap in it and out pops one out and if you have a high enough lockpick you can pick it open

it would quickly become a redundant immersion mechanism.

Why would it take a bottlecap to by soda from a Pre-War vending machine? The Nuka Cola Corp would have lost loads of money if all you had to do was put a bottlecap in to buy a drink.

Yup. Bottle Caps wasn't a currency before the war, so putting a bottle cap in there wouldn't do much.
And let's just think that the player finds something to pry open the door. :P

Fallout 2 didn't use Caps as currency. Are you sure it wasn't the NCR coins that make it work?

That would be interesting. You buy nuka cola, take the cap off, put it in the machine to get another nuka cola, and repeat... :P

I'd imagine it's that magic screwdriver we (and no one else, apparently) seem to have, no matter the situation -- virtual reality, all items removed by casino security, whatever.

The other soda companies probably did that and went under cause of bankruptcy.
I mean, buy one soda, then pop in it's cap and get a new soda for free, then pop in "it's" cap and buy yet another soda for free!

And Fallout 2 didn't use bottle caps as currency, they used gold, sweet previous gold.
