Why classes were flawed

IIRC (and I do because I'm playing it now) morrowind made you use non class skills or minor skills to gain modifiers.

They didn't make you, they rewarded you. So it could be argued that it pushed players towards JOATs, more so for those obsessed with +5s, but that's MW. Many have argued that OB leveling made +5s necessary. It didn't really (for some? many?), but games are being redesigned so that new players cannot possibly feel like they are losing. Not getting the best bonuses and the best loot every single time, etc. If Beth believes that the new classless, attributeless system will placate these players, I think they might be surprised.

That's what Im basically saying. Its to placate newbs, instead of having to understand the system like all TES vets had to at one time, they're basically idiot proofing it (not calling anyone an idiot). Not to mention you couldn't make a bad class in ES. They all have strengths and weaknesses.

Again it seems like theres two groups, one that cares what they get and one that doesnt.

So because i'm glad attributes and classes got cut I "don't care what I get"? Wow. Just wow.

Did I name names?

Obviously there is more than just two groups/demographics etc.

Fact is, if Todd said they were expanding classes, and making them more in depth, a lot of these people would be defending that instead.

Turn it around. Why do you need to get rid of them then?

Because the role they played was superfluous at best and easily replaced by some other mechanism.

Didnt know you could tell the tone of my voicee over the internet.

It's not hard to read between your lines, you're pretty obvious.

Man you just love looking at things in terms of black & white don't you, your posts are full of cliches. I hate to break it to you, but it's entirely possible to come up with some sort of middle ground.

This is staying closes as it's way off topic and derailed by two people who should have taken the off topic stuff to pm but instead ruined the entire thread.
