Crysis 2 is not amazing pc game at all. I think it's gonna be good for the consoles, but I think that any true PC gamer can see from the multiplayer that it's a complete console port and is not designed to be played on a PC.

Crysis 2 appears to have a VERY high skill cap, which is ideal for hardcoe PC gamers. This isn't your little brother's Call of Duty.
Rofl. Try again.

-The player health and weapon damage in Crysis 2 are almost identical to Crysis 1. Why is this important? Crysis 1 was designed without consoles in mind to be the best possible hardcoe PC-gaming experience. High health means head-shots are essential, and that good players can take out a room full of n00bs-- as opposed to a consolized series like Call of Duty, where it becomes a game of who-can-see-who first.
You don't understand how that was possible in Crysis, but that doesn't matter because it's certainly not possible in Crysis 2.

-In addition to the basic gameplay provided by Crysis 1, which as I above mention was designed for PC only, Crysis 2 adds advanced movement. Sliding, jumping, Mirror's Edge Parkour stuff-- all of this is an additional challenge not present in most first person shooters. Advanced movement has always been a part of major PC exclusive titles-- it takes us back to the good old days of Quake and Unreal. Since we're all better at aiming, we need an extra challenge.
Rofl. You never played Crysis did you?

-Not content to merely give us advanced movement, Crytek also provided us with Energy management. That energy bar means that some n00b sprinting around bunnyhopping is going to show up to a fight, button mash QQ, and die. The skilled player will always be trying to keep their energy high for when they will need it. Nano vision and stealth provide an extra layer of complexity-- more buttons that we need to hit, more mistakes n00bs can make, and a higher skill cap.
Again, you've clearly never played Crysis if you're listing this as a positive about this game.

-Little details like intense inaccuracy if you don't aim down the sights, fairly small head hitboxes despite headshots being essential-- it all adds up to make this a very challenging and very hardcoe title.
Would you like to explain to me how all that "advanced movement" in crysis 2 matters when you ultimately end up standing still as you aim down the sights?
-----
There's more that I could say, but those are the main points. From a gameplay perspective, I think Crysis 2 is going to be the best competitive mutliplayer PC game in years. It looks to have an incredibly high skill cap and rewards mastery. If you don't like it so far, remember that we're all still learning.
Again, you've clearly never played Crysis.

I go into a bit more detail about some of this, and discuss a lot of the stuff that could be improved, here:

Won't even bother. You've already demonstrated that you have no idea what you're talking about.

you fail at refuting dude, through this whole thing you only said "you have not played Crysis 1" and not once did you actualy try to prove him wrong. stop trolling and get some actual facts

Even the fact that I'm thinking whether or not it is a console port or a cod rip off and all that makes it everything but an amazing pc game. Its sad, but its true.

not really. cry2 is a game where the learning curve is low, and there isnt that much you can do to excel compared to everyone else.

you cant learn to move really well because theres only so much you can do.

you cant learn to aim really well because theres no recoil.

you cant have godlike map awareness because theres nothing to be aware about (you have a minimap).

energy management? Ya, its called not using powers when you dont need them (GASP!!!!!!!!)

As you can see, anything above is capped at a low level. Its not hard to master the different aspects of this game, so everyone will. And what does that devolve to? Just a bunch of people running around all game shooting eachother in the back.

this game screams noob friendly. I dont see how that can be fun.

everything today is noob friendly except for bf thankgod
but this game also has the ability for countless combos/weapons maybe for some fun scrimming
unlike cod where you basically just use ninja n marathon

Kind of what he said, only with less foaming at the mouth and considerably reserved judgment until the game actually comes out.

Cheers, Jack. I'm thinking the same thing right now. Posts like this are always encouraging, though.

because it has repetetive texturing to comply with limited ram on consoles,
because it has no public dedicated server download,
because it will ship without dx11

it looks to shape into an almost perfect pc game, i got to agree.

How the hell do you people have such insane judgment for a game that hasn't been released yet? Reserve your judgment until it's released....

I played the demo extensively, watched all the media on the maps which are obviously great, watched all the gun previews and can get a pretty decent idea of balance, and looked at the perks.

Also, we can customize servers pretty much as hardcoe as we want-- even if Crytek botches it, which I don't expect them to, custom server settings can make this game flawless and I really expect/hope a pro scene will arise.
