I'm starting to wonder if I've been playing the same Oblivion as anyone else.
Take into account:
Item A - The player tells Martin that the Daedra are there for him.
Item B - The Daedra successfull siege the castle and slaughter everyone in it -- including the count. Yet, the chapel is still standing.
Item C - When you first enter Kvatch, the place is overrun by Daedra, and there's no good reason they shouldn't have besieged the chapel. Take into account the Aurorans during KotN.
Item D - There was a time when Martin dabbled in Daedra worship. Just a thought.
It's made quite apparent that Mehrunes Dagon knows Martin is there, and we can only guess why. My guess would be spies. After all, you end up killing some spies outside Cloud Ruler Temple, and it's made clear that's why they know Martin is now there. The captain of Bruma's guard even says he would have never expected Jearl to be a Mythic Dawn Agent, so it's entirely plausible that there could have been some unsuspect spies that knew about the situation.
I would also go as far as to say that it is no coincidence that Martin was a priest at the temple of Akatosh.
It could be related to Martin's status as a member of the dragonblood.
Read the first page or better yet THE FIRST POST you would realize then main problem in your posts, go ahead read it, i won't spoil it, one major point you do make Aphotic, they didn't do much to the chapel besides rip the top off, considering how they didn't even go in the chapel this completely dismisses the chapel theory, so for the new people who don't read posts and haven't read my posts i'll say it again FOR THE THIRD TIME! It was a mistake on the dev's part, they tried to say something which would compel the player to find Jauffre (after all what would be better than "if you want to find out what the hell is going on and WTF am i talking about then go to JAUFFRE since he is the only person IN THE WORLD who knows." See the problem with what they said, i know it's not his exact words, but it amounts to the same thing, it was very compelling for the first-time player since they haven't a clue whats going on and thats the only person who you could see, but the problem is what they said, he is the only person who knows, so how does Dagon know? If we accept what Uriel says then the only possible lore-friendly explanation on the attack on Kvatch was coincidence, like i said (I REPEAT FOR THE THIRD TIME!!!) it was mistake on the dev's part, Martin was intended to be the target of Kvatch's attack, Jauffre really was the only person that knew of Martin's existence, if you want a lore-friendly answer we can either say Martin was the target, this would mean that somewhere along the lines of his birth to the oblivion invasion the mythic dawn or MD learned of Martin's existence
bliviongate: (I presume it was a bit before the initial attack on the emperors sons as that would fit in perfectly with the events that came after). NOW FOR (HOPEFULLY) THE FINAL TIME, IT WAS A BLOOMIN' MISTAKE BY THE BLOOMIN' DEVS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :banghead: DID ALL OF YOU LISTEN THIS TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OR DID I NOT USE ENOUGH EMOTES TO CATCH YOUR ATTENTION :flame: :swear: :chaos: :nuke:
