By ***** I mean Cooke. The guy that runs the bar in Diamond City who's having a bit on the side with Pembroke's wife. I did the quest where Pembroke asks you to take care of him. I just talked him round though, didn't kill him. I then did his chems quest where you have to kill everyone at the meet. So I did that. But then as I was wandering back near Diamond City I found Cookes body, missing a leg lol, so he'd obviously been involved in something.

And then last night I was walking around Diamond City and his daughter had turned up looking for him. She asks about him. I knew he was dead but I didn't kill him so I just said I hadn't killed him. No idea what will happen next as she isn't saying anymore. Who did kill him though? And why would she ask me if I'd killed him?

Or will I find out who killed him if I just wait and see?

This must be an interesting quest. In one of my play-throughs I refused to help the husband, but then the next day the wife asks me for help because her husband is missing and she's afraid Cooke had something to do with it. So I guess you can play this quest several ways. Hadn't figured out what happened to the husband yet though.

I'm more curious as to why the hell I found Cooke where I did outside of Diamond City dead on the floor in the street a bit near where that super mutant battle is going on initially. And why the heck his daughter would show up and ask me if I'd killed him.

NPCs can die just walking around, I know Cooke leaves the Commonwealth after. Super mutants probably popped his head off on his way :/
