That way no one could kill him in one hit and knock him unconscious. Remember he is the MAD God, no one may challenge him.

Tyfer kind of summed it up. The dude's a freaking God, if anything his level should be higher.

He's a Daedric Prince. He's supposed to be unkillable. You can't kill a god.

It should be obvious, isn't it. As others have indicated.

Sheogorath is a Daedric Prince. So it's natural that' he'd be level 254 (or higher if that was allowable).

Completely understandable.

How do you get to know what level he is?

You can look at the wiki:

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Shivering:Sheogorath

Or on the PC you can use the console (open the console, click on him and enter "getlevel"), or the construction set.

I wish I could have at least knocked him out :( It would have made me feel worthy of receiving the mantle of the mad god. Jygalo was a weak boss fight, even on 100% difficulty.

Actually came over a glitch which made his crazy teleportation spell not work.

Managed to kill him after that glitch. Nothing really special happened, strangely enough.

Because Lvl 255 would be so over the top. Lvl 254 is just about right.

i remember knocking him out and sitting in his throne while he lay on the floor. that made me feel worthy. i think it was a reversed pickpocket helm with 5 fire damage. he does eventually succumb to it since he just twiddles his idiot staff all day.

i can't remember, but it may have been a cheat (addspell c48a0).

On the xbox, I can't cheat :( So I just have to accept that killing Jyglag is the equivalent to killing Sheogorath, since they are essentially one in the same; except one is a boring, walking shard of glass and the other is the only bearded man within 100miles of anywhere :turned:

In all fairness during the time the Morrowind mq takes place. The Tribunal had lost considerable power due to not having access to the heart. Whereas Sheogorath's power is his own, since he was always a God.

Isn't the irony that he kills a god to become one anyway?

Yes he is; no you can't.

Sheogorath is as much a god as any of the other Daedric Princes, which is to say, as much of a god as anything. You can't kill a Daedric Prince. They are not mortal, they do not die. The Tribunal and Dagoth Ur were not the same as other gods, so I don't see why people bring them up as relevant to whether or not you can kill a god. They were all mortals who took power from the Heart of Lorkhan. At the time of TES3, it had been over 400 years since they were last able to renew their power, so it had waned a bit. You couldn't kill any of them until you completed the main quest and disenchanted the Heart, thus severing their godhood and making them mortal again. Just because you can fight and defeat Vivec's body before doing so, that doesn't mean you killed him. Gods exist outside of their physical bodies and outside of time. Only after the Heart of Lorkhan is disenchanted can you say any of them were actually dead.

It is my understanding that "god" is usually meant as a synonym for Aedra. In that sense Sheogorath is not a god. Though of course he is a being of god-like power.

Yes, I know this is just arguing semantics, but I find semantics important and like to argue them. ;)

Then I'll continue the argument and say you're wrong. :P "God" is not synonymous with Aedra. It applies to Daedric Princes too. Anything that spews directly out of Anu or Padomay is classified as a god.

I suppose that is sensible. I just wish the people of Cyrodiil were more consitent in their terminology.
