Why did you buy Skyrim for a console?

I sense a low income.

I for one thinks that PC gamers are rude and hardheaded because they try to shove and force me to believe PC gaming is better just like how Muslims say join our religion or die... Though I may get a gaming PC in the future because mods and stuff could be really fun and funny to use and because Garry's Mod looks fun as hell... But for each PC is superior and if you don't play on PC you aren't a real gamer reply I get the less and less I like PC gamers and PC gaming... Plus I collect guns and I can get a pretty good AR15 or AK for the price of a "good"or"great" gaming cumputer...

I think it is interesting that some people would generalize across all PC or or console users the same way bigots will generalize across religions or races.

My PC can't barely run pac man without giving me a blue screen of death but i don't kow..i want to play on PC but the screen is too small. And i want to do it with the PS3 controller. I hate keyboard and mouse. If i could connect my controller i would definetely give a go. Maybe i should stop buying stuff for consoles and get a PC.

I was under the naive impression that it should run more stable on consoles, plus I do not have a gaming rig. The comparison pics for PC's low~ultra settings also helped made my decision to get it on consoles as I cannot tell the difference.

Lesson learned.

Reading through this thread I noticed that most console player seem to be both bad at math and uninformed when it comes to the cost of gaming. I'm rather sure that it is an illusion that consoles are less expensive all things considered. That begins with the price of games, console games start out more expensive and not nearly drop as much with time as do PC games. Not to mention that they have to pay for multiplayer! Depending on how many games you buy, the difference in one or two years is probably high enough to upgrade your graphics card basically for free compared to a console player. And that is pretty much the only part of a PC that a gamer needs to upgrade from time to time. A good CPU + overclocking will do almost as long as a console generation. And it isn't like those console player do not need a PC anyway. Internet is a must have these days and so is a PC.

I would suggest to you that competence with math requires the ability to apply math in the real world. When someone says that a console is more cost effective, it means a console is more cost effective for them. There are all sorts of cost considerations that are specific to individual situations. For you to to declare they are bad at math, you would have had to examine their current set-ups, available equipment, and so on. If you didn't, it isn't they that have a problem with math.

My PC was MADE for Beth games. I use to buy on console because it was an easy pop disc in and play affair. ...Then i found out about mods! IMHO, mods are needed for Beth games. Its the only way to maximize your enjoyment out of these expansive worlds. Especially since you invest soooo much time in them. You need to taylor it to your liking, just like you would to a pair of sneakers you use to go running miles in.

PC can't run it. I use it for school (now for work, cuz i got my degree couple of months back) and internet. I game on my couch + console. I have no regrets. I grew up with the NES and pc games, eventually to pc gaming only, till i bought the PS2. Then i got a 360. Now a pure console gamer (save for the old flash game or minesweeper ;) ). The only thing that i wish i could play are mods (i played Morrowind with lots of mods purely on the pc. Don't even know if it had a console version...). However the lack of mods aren't getting me down, as i'm having loads of fun with the game (+ future expansions :) )

I have it on Xbox and it's perfectly okay on there. Sure PC has much better graphics and mods, but I've always preferred consoles. Partly because on Xbox I can be in an Xbox Live party and talk to my friends while we play (sometimes different) games. None of us have a gaming PC and we're perfectly content with Xbox.

I prefer having all my games on one platform, and in my opinion the PS3 has the best exclusives out of the three.

I don't like gaming on my PC anyway. Unless it's a PC exclusive, I'll buy the PS3 version.

why all the hostility.

just because some one chooses a different platform to game on does not make them stupid, lazy, immature, bad a maths or any of the other insults i have seen flying around.

having the inability to discuss a difference of opinion without resorting to throwing insults must be a sad way to live.

this is of course my opinion and you are entitled to your own.

you may now continue the mud fight

I play games, watch movies and TV, and now I get live HD NFL games all on my PS3.

I absolutely hate playing games on a computer, but that's my preference. I feel like computer gamers are probably as dead-set in their mentality as I am.

So why is everyone so concerned with what system other people prefer to play?

I played Morrowind on the PC and loved all the mod's but I haven't upgraded my PC since to lazy. I got the PS3 version of Skyrim knowing the Fallout games had issues but Oblivion didn't so yeah I regret it because the PS3 version is broken beyond belief.

Other:

Computers are like people, they're all different, and they all stink...

...
Wait.
Rather:
They are like people: They're going to cost you a lot of money if you want to keep them alive in a small confined space in your cellar, and if the FBI ever sees what you do to it, you're going away for a long long time.

You can get rid of them, and replace them every 2 years when they're outdated and useless.

The consoles, however, are cheap as dirt.
Perfect for a family-man like me, with two kids and a missus.

The graphics look outdated even when the consoles come out, compared to PC -- but 200$ once every 5 years > 2000$ every 2 years.

If I could afford £500 to buy a new computer, plus another £100 for the monitor, keyboardm mouse, speakers, the game itself, I probably would get it for PC.
As it is, I have an Xbox, and I've been pleasantly surprised at how well its going, only froze up twice and the controls are good enough to not irritate me.
