Why Did You Do This?

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 2:37 pm

Did anyone at Bethesda think to use A - button on the X-Box 360 exclusively to put things in and out of a chest, and not use the X button in and then the A - button out?

ITS ALWAYS BEEN THE A - BUTTON!!!!!!!!!

Maybe I will eat more ingredients then I store.

This is TRULY ANNOYING, almost as annoying as this forums charcol grey background with a charcol grey cursor. GOOD 1 well thought out.

Glad I play on PC where it can be anything I want it to be. I do think that they should have allowed button binding

God yes. Don't get me wrong I love Skyrim, probably the best game I have ever played. But the way they set that up is extremely infuriating. I've lost track of how many times I've opened up my chest, spend a few minutes spamming X to store things. Then I go to take something out and hit X on accident and pull everything out of the chest, then have to put it all back in. I'm finding it hard to comprehend why they would not just let you use A to store things. Makes 0 sense the way they did it.

It's fine as it is. I press A to put things in and press B to exit.

That's your console controller complaint? How about the fact that to press the favorites menu you must either stop moving (and take an extra whack or 2) or reach over with your other hand?

And while I'm talking about the favorites menu, why can't we bind one-heanded weapons to the left hand or magic to the right hand?

The other day I tried giving Jenassa five health potions, but then I realized I drank them all. She must have thought I was wasteful. :sadvaultboy:

Yeah, the favorites thing is kind of annoying. A lot of the little annoying things like that are just a bad design choice or they have limited options due to the limited buttons on the controller. The A / X thing for removing and storing in containers just seems like a huge common sense fail on their part. There is no reason to not have A do both. You don't need to use potions or eat things from your inventory while having a container open. Either way I'm not knocking the game or "whining" about it, I just find it extremely silly that they did it that way and wish I could change it.

I gathered all 10 Fire Salts finally after who knows how many hours, and I went to get the rest from my chest...Guess I accidently ate them, but went to turn them in and 5 doorways later, I could not load an autosave far enough back...Beth needs to stick with the "If it's not broke, dont fix it" approach for certain things...Interface, favorites, and containers should be improved, or changed back to oblivion/morrowind style...Cant believe Todd Howard was actually bragging about the "New and Improved" interfaces...
