Why didn't anyone harvest vehicles?

Fusion Cell of course, doesn't that just make things even more complicated? So if the cars are powered by Fusion Reactors now in F3 instead of batteries do they fill cars up with water or H+ ions? Gah! The fact that they even explode in a nuclear mushroom is ridiculous, but of course it's SCIENCE! so in this one instance all of laws of physics cease to exist so that a mushroom cloud can be generated from such a small explosion.

the highway man in F3 ran on MF cells. off of nuclear reactors.

dont confuse the 'splosions with the rest of it. they are seperate things.
Of course nuclear powered cars should not explode.. but a car running on MF cells is still running on nuclear power.

There ia a world of difference from a small fusion cell IE battery that you connect to a electric engine and a car that has a mini nuclear reactor powering it! Those cars must need alot of water to cool that reactor. People think filling a radator with water is a pain. Filling the reactor coolant would be murder, having to stop every 10 miles or so lol.

my point.. MF cells are still nuclear reactors. thats literally what they are. not batteries that are holding a charge, they crerate the charge internally, via nuclear reaction.

of course explosions wouldnt happen with them.

BTW, the place they got the idea for nuclear pwoered cars was taken from reality.... they actually tried doing that back in the 50's... so its not as if gamesas, (or anyone else for that matter) were out of line.

but looking at it gives an idea of how it would work.. semantically, it would be a steam powered car.. (i thought of this as you were saying the F1 and 2 cars were electric)
the steam would be made by a nuclear reaction.

Yeah but it never got past designing a shape for the car... :whistling: Besides who's blaming Bethesda? Nuclear Powered cars have always existed in Fallout, they just didn't explode and ran on MF Cells (though you do make a decent point, I was unsure as to whether there was an actual change from Fallout 2 to F3 on the cars fuel source.)

thats alli am really saying, they were always nuke powered.

of course we can all agree that nuclear powered cars should not explode, whether a full on reactor, or a lil pocket sized one.
you shouldnt even be able to shoot a cumbustion engine car and have it explode.

Yeah I agree that it was a pretty sorry state of affairs when F3 introduced the nuclear bomb cars, was it you who suggested the senario that one explodes and creates a chain reaction down a highway or something? Quite clearly they compeletly misunderstood the nature of automobiles in Fallout; now that Obsidean re-added Poseidon Energy stations every two feet which I believed are petrol stations it makes everything even more confusing.

I d have to go look at the fallout time line, but it says the nuclear cars were built around 2068. (don t quote me on this I am not looking at it) It may have been even closer.....so I think thats why there were still gas stations. Even though there are Micheal Bay explosion cars.

Makes perfect sense to quickly punch out nuclear powered cars once crude oil is finally almost gone. That s probably when we ll start getting serious about other methods in real life.

Styles I got linked to nma while looking for the leaked new dlc pics. There r 2 of them on nma. While looking at those pics something caught my eye....... said something about game play from black isle F3. That link took me to someone s utube. It played a nice real life 50s tune and had about 4mins of F3 game play. This was before I even read this thread so when I saw it I though cars always blew up in fo. Not till I read this post did I learn that they didn t.

I don t have an account on nma (because on that site I would be a mutant no doubt lol) but the leaked pics of the new dlc have to be easy to find on there since it is a hot topic.

If you find them u should see something that will link u to the F3 gameplay I speak of. I got linked to nma from the dlc form on this site. The thread is closed now, but is still on the first page in dlc general. Named something like "dlc trailer leaked". The link is in the OPs opener. I ll see if I can get u a link to the F3 gameplay.

ok Styles it shows a car on fire burning out of control. Maybe just after a Micheal Bay explosion. Warning....... If you loved old fo and hate Bethesda s Fallout this may make you cry if you haven t seen it.

The link wont work..... it takes you to a screen that says the video can t be displayed
The name of the search result is "You Tube- Black Isle’s Van Buren"

or use your search engine type "Black Isle" "Fallout 3" gameplay video................ just like that it should be the top search result. I m not sure why my link takes you to a utube screen that wont play anything.....let me double check it.

When I type the link it puts "........." where there should be .com/watch?=v
I m not sure why it does that. It may have something to do with me being on a PS3. When I look at the link I typed on my PS3 browser it does not look like what is above. Somehow ".........." gets added and takes away stuff I typed in. I don t like it.......

i am wondering what people think the "fusion" in fusion cell means.

I though it was nuclear fusion....... the combining of atoms. Is something else?????

Um the cars in FO3 are powered with fusion cells which are made through the fusion of two cells so, it would be safe to pick up. also if you've played FO3 the explosion of the battery shoots upward not out.

Cars can blow up, that is possible. What we are ranting about is how Bethesda added all of the cars for Michael Bay explosion effect, when most of the cars would have been looted for the scraps inside.
