It might be very damaging the accuracy/spread on this gun is HORRID
It's only devastating in close range.

Spread of 2.5 is HIGH

I am sure every infantry support weapon have a tracer round between a few rounds for it.

Take into consideration that most weapons in the Fallout universe are civilian owned, and that tracer rounds aren't very common use for civilians.

Yeah, it has pretty terrible accuracy. Even with a mod that that adds mod that reduces it's spread ;) I might tweak it some for myself, it is called a "Rifle" after all.

Or perhaps it sarcasm? Automatic "Rifle", like the "Legendary" Deathclaw or "hardcoe" mode :P

You're forgetting that .308 is a high-powered rifle cartridge. Firing a high-powered rifle bullet at automatic is VERY unmanigable.

I wouldn't know, my knowledge of guns is very limited  Game-logic wise i know that something called "rifle" is usually pretty accurate. In case of automatics, atleast the first round.

I havent't checked stats, but according to Project Nevada's dynamic crosshair Automatic Rifle has nearly twice the spread of LMG despite having a much longer barrel (which i believe improves accuracy?). I don't mind high spread when firing full-auto, but the initial spread seem a bit too high to me.

It's actually not as far-fetched as you think. Brownings are damn near impossible to maintain any form of accuracy.

Not really you could hadle the BAR. They only gave the BARs to people in ww2 that were strong and could handle high recoil. The browning or BAR are pretty accurate weapons in a right skilled person.

Maintain, maybe, but shouldn't the first shot be pretty accurate?

I often "snipe" (not at long ranges, obviously :D) with LMG by firing only once, if (or usually when) the enemy charges at me i don't need to change guns to stop it. That's what i wanted to be able to do with the AR too, but it's far too inaccurate for it. I think i've done the same with BARs in some WW2 games too

I don't think there was been a single WWII game that has been accurate in its depiction of weapons. Crap of Dookie is a frequent offender (I SHOT THAT GUY WITH A M1 GARAND 6 TIMES!!!)

"This Machine", even after a nerf is still more overpowered than the AR.

The real fun is going to be a few DLCs down the road. At that point the devs will just go, "Screw balance" and code in some really absurd stuff.

I think the Mr Sawyer forgot to add that its 15 pounds to its drawbacks. Im a guy who plays hard core, and trys to stay out in the wastes, only going home when I have to. 15 extra lbs, along with the semi-heavy 308 rounds that come with it, means more trips to the mojove express drop boxes.

Its a .308 rifle it should be alot more powerful than the AR.

I do agree with you on your second point though, its gonna get crazy after a few DLCs.

HOW CAN A HOLOGRAM BE A WEAPON. brilliant. It was only a matter of time before someone created a sun powered electricity multi laser burst system. Just swing it over your shoulder and let her rip! Except it svcks they didnt do a unique animation for the ExMIRV.2 cents

It should only be more powerful because it is unique (all thought you can one more with glitch) with no common version.

I was just saying that aside from that the .308 is a large and extremely powerful round.

I am sure every infantry support weapon have a tracer round between a few rounds for it.

All full auto support weapons has every 5th round as a tracer round. Assault weapons or tactical weapons such as full auto/burst/semi auto rifles such as the AK47, Vz.58, AR15/M16 would not use tracer rounds.

Take into consideration that most weapons in the Fallout universe are civilian owned, and that tracer rounds aren't very common use for civilians.

Civilians might not use them but civilians can buy them. I have a stock pile of both soviet green tracer rounds as well as armor piercing Czech rounds including even a crate (880 rounds) of Armor piercing tracer incendiary rounds. So I think you should be able to obtain tracer rounds but they wont show you exactly where your bullets are going. Tracers tend to burn off their glowing element which ends up higher/lower/left/right/ahead/behind the projectile so its not accurate for use in a light weapon such as a BAR or an assault rifle. Works great in a medium to heavy machine gun though.

I don't think there was been a single WWII game that has been accurate in its depiction of weapons. Crap of Dookie is a frequent offender (I SHOT THAT GUY WITH A M1 GARAND 6 TIMES!!!)

Well its obvious you never played Red Orchestra Ost Front, that game is a WWII game that uses accutrate correct bullet trajectories where the bullets drop just like they do in real life over distance, they also have one shot kills, they have accuracy based off the real guns (the M38 carbine is less accurate than the M1891/90 or the M1891/90 sniper rifle), they even have bullet damage based off real ones. For instance a 7.62 caliber round would kill a person with a gut shot or a head shot but a smaller submachine gun pistol round wouldnt kill with a gut shot. This game is pretty much a real life war simulator where its not a buffed up one man army type game. You are crawling with tracers flying all around you bouncing up from the ground going all over the place. You get hit if its a flesh wound too bad theres no medics and no health kits to heal up.
