Why doe's everyone want New york to be in Fallout 4?

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 1:50 am

(hmmm, Map node of New England based on the old school fallout with many such areas and landscapes, or urban warfare with a big vertical sandbox New York, and it's sky scraqer ruins and mazes of Subways, where one wrong turn, and splat, street pizza? I don't know, I will think about it......)

Uh, why not both, i dont see why there can not be a compromise, *looks back*, well, look at that, us "dinosaurs" have been proposing that compromise quite often, we arent saying we want it like the old Fallouts, but we want a node system, the individual nodes can be sandboxes for all we care.

I don't want it to be in either, New York would be flooded and if it got hit it wouldn't be accessible. The Commonwealth would have been better as a dlc I think, it's just the same thing as the Capital Wasteland but with a place that has advanced tech that people aren't allowed in. So they could be compared to the Brotherhood. Personally I would like to see the game set in the Rockies or some other mountainous area.

Why isn't there a neither option?

New York sounds good, but that has been done millions of times before in games like Crysis. Let's take it up a notch and lets set Fallout 4 in the war of Anchorage as a full game. I don't like going back in time, so maybe we can take a second visit.

Map - "nope" or map-node, i am cunfus, i would like a New England node-based map, travelling throughout several states, with individual nodes, encounters, instants, to be sandbox-based and, i guess, first person.

Fixed. And yes, we can have small maps for each node. Hell, make the New York one the biggest if you want. And seriously, if LA was razed to the ground, I feel like New York would be that x10.

I mean New york city, is too over -done its getting boring and a lot of things point to Fallout 4 being in the Commonwealth which would be awesome!

Why not new york its the Big apple man every kind of crime happens there.

Okay? 'Fallout 4 should be done in New York because it has crime.' That makes no sense. Crime is rampant in the post-war world.

but LA still had places like Adytum, the Fortress, the Cathedral, imagine what NYC would still have.

It's true. I just feel like New York might have been a bigger target than LA, and the amount of buildings would produce quite a bit of rubble, making it hard to navigate. Manhattan would be inaccessible, I'd think. I guess the other boroughs could work.

i would like node system were you go to major cites as main place then there is lots of small settlements around it so basically node system were you go to sandbox areas that are the size of 2/3 of fallout 3 map and if fallout went to florida i would like to see that big brige that goes all the way to that island and New york could have survived like how New Vegas survived but to be anest i dont like commenwealth as much as New york..............................general out!

All the subway's would be flooded as well.

That is what the "dinosaurs" have been proposing, but a lot of people see "node system" and automatically say "No, it is older, therefore bad."

Oh, darn. Well, that just enhances my question, then - why does it have to be set in the US?

It's America's First Choice in post Nuclear Survival :P

Anyways, I like urban Post Apocalyptic Environments. So New York would be my vote.
