Why does Bethesda hate Fallout 3 and it's console-using fans

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 10:37 pm

All this means is that Bethesda should have added iron sights, new sneaking physics, finishing moves, weapon attachments and hardcoe mode, and all that other stuff PC users have access to, to Fallout 3 for the console user, because it really isn't fair, now is it? Yes this title is harshly worded, but I had written this earlier out of spite. Sorry.

It's just not going to happen. They'll be working on Skyrim DLC and Fallout 4. Fallout 3 is finished business as far as they're concerned.

How is it not fair that people who bought a game for a console do not have access to something that cannot be done on a game console?

They should have thought of adding that when they started making all of the Fallout 3 DLC. I would like them to add additional content like hardcoe mode and a campfire system like NV, but it's not likely to happen. Almost makes me want to buy a good gaming PC, but it takes a while to save up for one. A good gaming PC is usually 2 to 3 times more expensive than a console. Come to think of it's like a a big F U to lower middle class families.(I'm 17 and I can only work minimum wage weekends for about 4 hours on good days. Community theater...)

That Pole is biased.

I am a console gamer and I am fine with them moving on to new projects, I'd actually prefer that.

What would you rather, F3 getting iron sights and more while F4 is delayed two years or living with F3's problems and getting F4 (with those features) earilier?

What you do not realize is that they could just take the mechanics, and engines, and animations from their other games and implement them within this game within a few hour time period, just by using around 5 programmers, while still having an able army of them. That would not halt Fallout 4's production.

In a tough economy, people cannot afford to buy games for 60 dollars, they rather stick with what they have, surely you agree to that?

How is it not fair that people who bought a game for a console do not have access to something that cannot be done on a game console?

The year is 2008, you are standing outside your local gamestop waiting for them to open and release a highly praised Fallout 3. You pay the 60 dollars and the extra pre-order fee. You play and buy the five 10 dollar DLCs.
The year is 2011, you walk into the gamestop, and grab the PC version of the GOTY Edition for 15 dollars, you go home and open fallout nexus: you now have access to thousands of bonus content that is free for your downloading needs. The least Bethesda can do is add a couple little gameplay changes.

Everything in bold is in Fallout New Vegas, I told you this in another thread you created
The one in italics, how do you mean new sneak physics, they seem sound to me ?
The underlined one, we can't have the G.E.C.K for modding etc because Microsoft won't allow modding on their consoles, Bethesda as I know were all for it but ultimitely can't.

And like who ever said in the last thread you made said, get the PC version and use all the mods you want on Fallout3, otherwise GET FALLOUT NEW VEGAS ;)

Spoiler

Fallout3 is dead, no more content. Period. :)

That would not halt Fallout 4's production.

Not to mention paying each one of those developers. Then testing what they have just added which would then require testers, which is more money. Then there is the bugs that have been let slide, potentially game destroying for some, which mens more money going into support teams, and then those patches going back to the testers before release which is more money.

Money thats doesn not need wasted on past projects that people have mostly moved on from.

Your saying take the code/animation etc from another game, what other game, New Vegas?

In a tough economy, people cannot afford to buy games for 60 dollars, they rather stick with what they have, surely you agree to that?

What I just said above applies here too, they need their money for better things.
Trade in some of your games, save your pocket money/wages and buy it.
No one is going to put a new project to come back and completely revamp an old one from 3/4 years ago, it would cause chaos

Its a lot more complicated than that as Papafern said:

I don't care anymore, is there any way to delete my account? I'm just done with this website, if you all think that Fallout 3 is dead, then the whole series must be dead. just remember what Ulysses said about cutting the throat of the bear...

There is no way to delete your account that I know of.

And Fallout 3 is dead, people still play it (including me) but there will be NOTHING added to it anymore.

They have already released a sequel and are probably already starting the game after that.

And Ulysses' line has nothing to do with this.

your pessimism is what makes me not like this website, keep in mind that is what everyone said about halo, now they've remastered the first game, and they have a new trilogy coming out.

I can't believe I was just called a Pesisist because I know that Bethesda doesn't back track to old games!

Halo is not Fallout, Bethesda's mindset is to move forward in every way shape and form (they refuse to make a game in the past or use old features).

I am sorry but you have to let go of this idea of Fallout 3 getting more content, they have announced that it was done over a year ago.

And in your last post what do you mean about the whole series dying? (Forgot to add that in my last post)
