Why does Bethesda like 11s so much

Post » Mon Aug 29, 2011 8:50 pm

Because gamesas wants to be number 1 so they put as many ones in there as they can.

Yeah, they have Remembrance Day in Canada too. I think in the US its called Veterans Day (Thats a worse name because its more important to honor the people who actually died and the ones who lived).

The dead don't care that you remember them. The veterans, on the other hand, may appreciate it.

Because of the Roman God of War.
The Greek God of War is Ares.
Now, you take Mars and spell it backwards, drop the S.
Ram. That's right. And ram is the zodialogical sign for Aries. Oh! Now dig. Ares' half-sister is Athena.
Whoa, whoa, whoa. Athena, Athens.
Which is the capital of Greece.
And as we all know, zodialogical astronomy was created by the Greeks in...
785 B.C.
And 785 is the area code to Topeka. Oh, my God. 785 is the area code to Topeka, Kansas!
Now, what legend involving snakes is in both Greek and Roman mythology? Now, come on. It involves Aesculapius' own father.
Apollo.
Apollo slew the serpent at Delphi, which was a big-ass snake.
And what, brothers, is the biggest snake in the world?
The South American anaconda.

And that is why Bethesda likes 11s so much. :bunny:

Because a couple of 11's found Todd in a ditch when he was an infant. They cared for him and raised him as their own. Then they sent him off to college, and then to work on 'video games', something that was only just getting started. Though they were unsure, they supported him fully, without question.

Todd is now the successful Game Director for a rapidly growing company, and he wanted to pay them back for all that they had done.

That is why.

Because it is a unique date that only happens once every century and it's very easy to remember.

This.

And they don't "Like 11s so much" OP. They choose to release a game on an every 100 year occurrence and now they are associated with this number, and conspiracies are built around it?

Don't see what's so special about the date. Three 11s, big whoop. What's so great about 11s.

11/11/11 is a very easy date to remember, and it makes it more marketable.

It's very simple. It's a holiday that day so the released it so more people would be free to buy it when it came out.

2/2/22 was inconvenient. So they saved it for TES VI.

several reasons, im sure... its a cool date, and one of the bigger reasons i think is because it matches the way dragons write their language...

they use their claws and their dew claw to draw straight lines and dots... so "11 - 11 - 11" looks kinda like a dragon wrote the date.

im sure they have more reasons... whats it matter, anyway?

would you rather they set the date of release at 12/12/12?

what about 13/13/13? ...wait, nevermind, that'd be a really unlucky date.

It's as good a release date as any, plus they get to do the whole 'S K Y R I M ---> I I · I I · I I' ...thing.

OMG!
11x11x11=1331
1331-666=665
That is only 1 number away from 666
:o

But Skyrim is the Number 1 game of 2011, so when you factor that in.... Oh my. It's made of 2 666's, our lives will change forever on that day!

because if they miss 11.11.11, skyrim can only be released at 12.12.12, because the planets align to a new elders scroll era
Ya and if the world ends in 12/21/12 you would only have 9 days to play the whole thing. ^_^

"We could wait a day and release it on 11-11-11 but we like the date 11-10-11 more. It's much more catchy. Derp"

Why don't they release it on 9-10-11 or 11-1-11 or even 10-27-11

11 has nothing to do with Skyrim and does not matter

So what? That's the release date, get over it. It's not like your opinion which just sounds like a bunch of whining is going to change anything, anyway.

Well imo, 11-11-11 is better then say 8-10-11 because atleast 11-11-11 is a little bit more creative then another date.

Also, a release date doesn't really need to have any connection to the game, it's a release date. Big whoop?

I haven't read through this thread but off the top of my head I can think of a few things. The 11-11-11 is associated with dragon claws, plus my birthday is on an 11th, and a few other people I just met. Me and some other 11 types were having a conversation of how there seems to be a lot of 11 this year. Bethesda knows what they're doing.

11 is in :mohawk:

I don't think it's coincidence that Bethesda chose that date. I'm betting somehow the number 11 plays a part in the MQ.
