Why does everyone stare?!?!

Post » Mon Oct 07, 2013 2:38 pm

You can't walk around the city without a stranger telling you their life story and you can't sit in an inn without everyone staring at you. Anyone else find this annoying.

This is what happens when the Nords forsake Alduin, chief of Divines for heretical Elven gods and mortal man hero-worship.

I had Valdimar stare at me the other day. Never had I been so creeped out before.

I'm sorry you had to go through such an ordeal. I hope you'll have the strength to get over that experience.

Nords must not be familiar with seeing a Khajiit inside their city walls. This one is surprised that these brutes did not chase this one out with stones and pitchforks. Khajiit is just glad that Nords don't attack Khajiit on sight, so this one can let the northern men stare at this one's glorious mane. :3

I find the nords staring at my general crotch area, with a look of sheer amazement and confusion on their faces. This isn't a brag, I think it says more about nords than it does about me, if you catch my drift.

No. What bothers me is that my character's head never turns to look at NPCs. I can fix this on PC, but those who play on consoles are sadly stuck with an eternally rude, forward-staring character.

Heh, haven't really paid it much mind but so true. After playing about 75 characters I'm so bored with the quest dialogue that being rude suits me perfectly, while the jarl of whiterun carries on with his BS I'm usually over in his kitchen cooking.

I find it annoying. The discussions, I can deal with, but sitting in an inn and everyone looking at you is creepy beyond words.

Yesterday, I was following the Traveling Bard, and would move left to right behind him, and sure enough, he looks in the direction I'm standing.

Want to see something funny? Stand directly behind him and watch his head go out of control. Linda Blair would be proud.

It's comical. His head was turning to the left and right repeatedly. It would only stop if I managed to get on one side or the other.

I was doing this until he entered the inn at Rorikstead. If I'm walking, I'm finding ways to amuse myself. :D

That's awesome. :)

How I amuse myself while on the road:
*stares at beautiful landscaping of Skyrim as walking on the road*
*looks down*
*sees bunny*
*selects fireball spell*
*  *
:P

I find the mechanic a bit comical at times because it's not just the Folks that do it, it's all creatures. I was sneaking up on a dragon at Autumnwatch Tower, but I was approaching from behind from Arcwind Point, as I got close enough to take a good shot at the dragon that was resting on the word wall his head turned and was looking directly at me. He didn't see me but he was looking RIGHT AT ME. It gave me a bit of a jump when he did that. It was a bit creepy and I didn't appreciate it, so I gave him an arrow to the knee.

LOL there's lots of things in this game that tend to creep me out. This of course being one of them. Pseron hit it spot on with your own characters head never turning and they never ever have a different facial expression. Inn's with no doors and then when you wake up someone is sitting there staring at you in the room YOU rented. Housecarls. I hate them. I mean WTH there is NO privacy. First time I bought Breezehome Lydia took up residence in my room. Ugh. Needless to say I got Hearthfire as my only DLC and only make the first little part of the house.

Lydia has never gone into my bedroom in Breezehome. She's either on the landing, sitting in one of the two chairs or standing (sometimes at the top of the stairs), or she's in her own bedroom.

I find the creepy innkeepers to be the most disturbing part of Skyrim.

*rents room in the Silver Blood Inn*
*goes to sleep on stone bed*
*wakes up in the morning*
*creepy old innkeeper watches character sleep for the whole night*
"Let me know if there's anything else you need."
*character bolts out of inn*

I'm getting chills just by writing this. O.O
