Why does no one comment on my Daedric armor?

Don't people comment on Dragonbone armor?

Half-finished game much?

as far as i know its been 200 somethin odd years since the oblivion gates were closed forever, cant blame the people if they've never seen daedric armor before, let alone an actuall daedra. So all they see is someone in black plate mail
Its still rare, and Daedric armor was around before the Oblivion Crisis.

That is true, but that would make it even more likely to cause comment.

Shouldn't it be the other way around? I mean, to get deadric armor you need deadra hearts, which basically means you have killed deadra. So the deadra hunting cults should like you instead and regular people should look up to you.

daedra were also allowed to pass through the realm thanks to summons and gates, with them permantly closed and the spells long forgotten and banned people would not know

Well yes, but in theory a greater daedra could smith the armor without using daedra hearts (maybe he has a special daedra forge), so I'm guessing the people assume that you couldn't have forged the armor yourself and got it by working for evil daedric princes.

Not all Daedra just from Dagons relm. I am sure more of that armor exist in other parts of Oblivion. With Dagons land being closed the armor would be slightly more rare and therefore should garner some kind of response.

Even Saint and Seducer armor is technically daedric, but the one we can equip and call 'Daedric' is only from Dagon's Deadlands. So they don't all make the same kind of armor; and 'Daedric' armor should be pretty rare.

Most people have probably never seen in in their lives. They can't say much besides 'hey, nice armor'

The Saints and various Seducers are Daedra and I would love their armors in this game and weapons. I also wish they was in the game as they are probably my favorite Daedra.

I think the people in the inner sanctum of the Temple of Dibella attack you if you go in there wearing it.

Also, people do comment on Daedric Artifacts, for Volendrung they say "That is one, big, hammer.

But yea, I think there should be more responses to stuff. And if I was a normal person that saw a dude in Daedric, I would definitely think they were evil.

The aurorans' armor would have made a great quest reward for Meridia along with the shiny sword.

You would think there would be a good list of 10 things you could think of to say to someone wearing a full set of Daedric. Like this,

In my best Arnold voice: "What's that? Daedric Armor? What are you doing, communing with the Daedra? Get out of here".

Or random old lady as you pass: "Ahh! Begone, Daedra worshipper!!"

Or a small child: "My mommy tells me only people who worship Daedra where Daedric armor..."

Or another Arnold: "Where'd you get that Daedric armor? Working for the Daedra?"

Something, anything would have worked. Daedric after all is quite rare (as it should be). I was just disappointed that no one commented on it. Was it just my game, or is there really no comments in the game for Daedric armor? Oh well. I hope they address this for the next TES game.

And by the way, yes I know this is a very minor nitpick. I absolutely love Skyrim and think it's great. But this is one small case where I expected a bit more.

I think it's because they're afraid. They're afraid that if they say the wrong thing or look at you the wrong way, your Billy bad(expletive) self will cut them in pieces and ship the parts to each of their family members.

But if you want a more practical reason, it was probably an oversight by the development team and missed implementation.

I'd like to hear something once in a while, for those rare armors.

Even some silly comment on what they see, like for daedric "Ooo, spooky." or "How is that armor glowing red like that? Enchant much?"

Dwarven could be like, "Who are you supposed to be a knight in shining armor?"

You forge it with Daedra hearts, that would seem to imply you're killing Daedra, not being buddies with them. It may be in there somewhere, I noticed it was rare for my elven armor to get mentioned, but Scaled seems to come up constantly (leather did too if I remember right)

But like someone mentioned, I think most people would assume you are decked out in Daedric because you have been working for a Daedric prince or something. Think of your typical Nord. They are definitely going to be suspicious of anyone wearing Daedric. That's why it would have been perfect to have one-liners in there from the townsfolk regarding it. I feel like they missed an opportunity here. They can definitely fix that for TES VI, and I expect they will.

Yes I would have loved that to be in the game. It would have fit a paladin character very well.

You do for Dragon armors; my characters tend to all wear Dragonscale, and get comments from guards such as "Is that Dragon Armor? Wish I had a set of that..."

Exactly. Children and women should especially be scared. I think there should have been a script just for children and women regarding Daedric armor. And guards should be suspicious of people wearing Daedric. I'm also certain this won't go unnoticed for the next TES game though. It seems like they just didn't have any resources and/or time left to add this.

depends on women. Also boys and men would be scared too, namely the ones who think they have balls but scream and run away first sign of danger. Honestly because of Dragon attacks both in walled and unwalled cities, unless that person is a bornfighter/guard no matter the gender it will yell "HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP" and run away. It's really pitiful when I see males who call themselves men in full armor light or heavy run away from a lesser dragon that is just named "Dragon"

I didn't mean to imply all women and children would be scared. Wasn't being sixist or anything. Some men should be scared too, for sure. In fact, I would have loved to hear Braith (is that her name? Little girl from Whiterun) say, "I'm not scared of you, even with your stupid Daedric armor on!". That would have been great.

By the way, that "Embra PD Thread Paint" from your link is awesome. Really great work!! I love it.

Sweet, I haven't made and worn that set often yet, but I'm working my way to them. I've been trying to check out heavy ones right now to know what their max armor ratings are with certain skill levels and perks.

Thank you very much! Was thinking of doing one on Alduin but Bethesda has already depicted him being baddass ((which he is despite he's a complete jerk)) and I can't draw him very good yet but when I do I shall do a thread paint of him!

And that Braith Idea would be wonderful. I have actually seen her run away scared before though I'm not sure if it was because I killed Nazeem for being a super annoying arrogant bastard or if it was because of a brawl gone wrong.

Daedric armour isnt evil.

but human perception doesnt work that way. if you see someone in a full set of spiky red armor that comes from demonic creatures and can only be made by one of their hearts, you are going to be suspicious and fearful of them. it doesnt matter if you are mother theresa... it looks evil so people will think you are evil, at least unconsciously making them uncomfortable around you.

What about Golden Saint armor and weapons, and we all know what they represent and what they do, we also know what their armor looks like.

Yep.

It may sound silly to some, but I really hope they expand this type of stuff in the next TES game. I want guards commenting on even more attributes in even more ways. I want regular townsfolk commenting too. That would be awesome.
