Why does player always wear same helmet?

On every screenshot that stupid - looking bull helmet appears. Are we bound to wear it to our grave or what? :brokencomputer:

Bethesda took inspiration from many other games... including Animal Crossing.

You didn't hear? That's the only helmet available in the game. You can't take it off, either.

I think it looks cool. Nearly every helmet in Oblivion looked stupid in my opinion.

They're probably showing it for any number of reasons:

A: They don't want to reveal a bunch of their armor selection within the first few months of them revealing the game to us
B: They think that it fits perfectly with the "Barbaric" theme of the game
or C: They think it looks awesome. Or something.

Probably not. Look at the guy from Morrowind- tattoed Dunmer wearing the Redoran-style Bonemold Armor. Guy for Oblivion wears Imperial Guard armor. FO3's symbol was a guy wearing BoS armor, and New Vegas' guy wore NCR Veteran Ranger armor.

It's either going to be a very common or high-end peice of equipment, but not likely the best helm in the game.

Because all the released screens are only from when Game Informer visited Bethesda Studios so I imagine all the footage was in one play through when that character had the helm on.

Because Alduin is unable to digest that particular helm.

In my opinion there were plenty of strong helmet designs like the the dwarven, the madness helm, the daedric helm, the masque of clavicus vile, the imperial legion helmets and the mithril helmets.

I'm sure i'm missing others.

Guys, don't do this. I'm starting to worry people might take you seriously.

I started to laugh out loud when I read this, something I rarely partake in while reading online material. Bravo, sir.

I don't know what you've been looking at, but looking at the GI article I see at least 4 different helmets/hoods already:

- Dark Brotherhood style hood
- Leather helmet with spikes and studs
- Horned helmet
- A helm that looks a bit elvish in design or maybe ceremonial nordic (entire suit looks really cool in my opinion)

It's probably the "featured outfit." Like in Fallout it's the vault suit.

It's probably an easy to obtain armor at the start.

The guy falling from the player slashing him seems to be wearing another leather helm as well. It's different the what the Dark Elf is wearing (the one with studs).

I don't like horned helmets, the entire notion of them is just absurd (as horns would make a helmet worthless in combat, you want things to glance off you, not catch on something).

I am hoping they have more realistic looking viking inspiried types of helmets and things

You know,I never really find myself wearing helms even with Heavy Armour.
I guess it's just not my thing BUT I think the viking helm is pretty wicked.

I do how ever like the whole battlemage hood/heavy armor deal. :toughninja:
