I'm no programmer, but I'm guessing it's because they need to check for new problems the patch might create before releasing it.

I haven't had any gamebreaking bug, only occasional minor stuff, like sometimes weapons delay to load, some others the color of the weapon is not right, and two random crashes.
LOL! Thanks for the joke.
All I can say is, I am sure they don't program in ASM.
Platform-specific and hardware-specific quirks, maybe. Platform-specific APIs (consoles vs PC), definitely. But generally, it's pretty much the same if good programming practices were adopted. If platform-specific quirks were detected, they'll just have to write a few methods to detect it and run the custom method instead of the vanilla one.
While it retroactively ruined the controls is was supposed to fix.
Possibly because both of the "bugs" you are noting are completely unimportant and there are more serious issues to deal with?
Come on: I've never heard of a Preston bug and there aren't a whole lot of people complaining about MacReady's perk.
Why are they such a big deal to you?
Monsegnior Plaza, undying enemies, frame rate drops, 1st/3rd person bugs, there are so many more important glitches and bugs that need attention before the minor ones.
And who made you the decider of what is important.
Apparently everybody hates Preston, so you're in the minority. I've also never had a problem with Preston as a companion, of course I don't use him after the Castle, what's the point?
So don't get MacReady's perk. That's already been established.
As I said, there are far more important bugs in the game that involve mechanics and actual game functioning that the two you mentioned are so minor as to not even matter.
If those are the two you can come up with, maybe you should rethink your priorities.
Some would say that's a welcome feature, not a bug...
People need to realize, that with a game as large as this. Bethesda is basically playing jenga with the code. You fix one problem, and that can cause a tidal wave of others to appear. Though, I suppose it's easier to assume they aren't doing anything and are just lazy, rather than use a modicum of patience.
I don't think patience is so much the concern as whether they will actually fix the bugs, like, ever.
We're a month out from release, patience is the concern.
Given Beth's track record, I would beg to differ. Especially when they start off with a patch that's intended to fix broken controls, which then makes it even worse than it was to begin with.
If this were 6 months after release, I'd say you'd have something to complain about. As of right now, it's a little premature to say they'll never fix the bugs. Again, there is always a chance that a fix can cause more problems.... Which is probably why it's taking them longer to release another patch.
I agree to some extent, but fixing some bugs like MacReady's perk, Yao guai steak bonus and Big Leagues is literally just changing values in a cell, they could have implemented that in the recently released patch with minimal effort. And those 2 perks unfortunately greatly affect gameplay.
I'm not complaining about the speed with which they release patches, I'm plenty patient.
They will fix most of the worst ones and then release the Creation Kit. Then they'll walk away, Job Done!
It's Bethesda, they are predictable.
Lies. The final patch for Skyrim was released on 19 March 2013, 16 months after the game launched.
Why you guys gotta lie on Bethesda just to bad mouth and look down on them?
For shame.
Almost no current gen games are released without one or two patches. This isn't the 90s.
