Why doesn't Bethesda push the series to Hollywood for a movi

Uwe Boll might get his hands on it. That's the only reason one needs to be against the idea of a Fallout movie.
You say that like it's a bad thing. He's direct such hit films as.....er.....and he also.....uh.....OH! And he also directed the timeless classic.....no wait....damn, I got nothing.

Serious reply: Would I like a Fallout film? Yes. Would I like a movie for movies sake? No. Only if it was choreographed by loyal fans of the series who KNOW what they're doing. Unless the movie was on par with the length of LOTR trilogy, I don't see it as being fair to the lore. A video game works because you can go through it all at your own pace, and it takes years to develop a game. Movies are like condensed books, but also cutting out the best parts of a book for 'time' or 'interest' sake.

As a TV show, I'd again like to see the hypothetical series follow true to the series lore as well, not straying randomly off to its own road.

I'd challenge anyone to name a single time when a movie worth watching has been made from a game.... Thats good enough reason not to for me

Silent Hill.

Silent Hill.
No no, he said a movie worth watching, not a movie not worth watching.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. And not just the length but quality too ofcourse.

For the most part, movies based on video games usually end up being awful. However I personally think that Tomb Raider (the first, I didn't see the 2nd film) and Silent Hill were really good - and I am a fan of both game series. It's not something I went into blind, I went in knowing the games well and still enjoyed it.

I agree with those that said Fallout would be better suited to a series though.

The Hunger Games was a top grossing film. AMC's Walking Dead is the highest grossing cable TV show of all time. So why doesn't Bethesda sell the movie rights to make some fast cash. Cash could be used in developing Falout 4, 5, and 6.

Hunger Games ripped off of The Running Man so bad, I wish she was sued for it. Plus, have you ever played a game based off of a movie (which they would likely do afterwards)? They are generally terrible and before you say "But this is a movie based off of a video game," I'd like to argue games based off of movies are all about money, they'd condense the game so bad to capture a broader audience, it wouldn't be anything close to the Fallout series we know.

Would you really be happy if a Fallout movie was on par with even the best movie on this list?

Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. Video game to movie adaptations are generally far more unsuccessful then movie to video game adaptations.

You are all forgetting one thing. Story. Now, while I feel Fallout would make a much greater TV show than a movie, it can be done as say a trilogy because FO gas a good story, so it all boils down to screenplay and writing. It doesn't matter who directs, if the screenplay was bad, the movie would be bad.

But again, it would be far greater as a cable TV show, and if later they made a movie to compliment the show, it could be decent, and a lot better than most crap being made today.
