I didn't care for any one of those videos you posted -- none of them had any compelling narrative, and most action (in games and movies) these days is just blah. Even the AC:R action really is just boring at best.

http://www.youtube.com/user/BethesdaSoftworks#p/c/7139983F41BCED20/7/yoXFk-0NrDI. I'll admit I'm more partial to the one that game afterward with some gameplay footage, but if CGI videos are your preference you'll find that video to be a treat. :)

Exactly. The Skyrim teaser really is amazing, and unique, with narration that catches my attention and feels meaningful. I love that the images are simply provided by a stone wall, leaving most up to the imagination. I love the real trailer, but I actually prefer the teaser -- it feels more like I'm in the past, listening to the village elder tell about our ancient mythologies, and looking at the carvings that have been on that wall for a thousand years, imagining I was the great character the elder is talking about. Oh wait! I AM going to be that character!

I believe Skyrim may be getting a CGI commercial, though.

I think you didn't understand me, i also love ingame trailers that show how the game will look but i think it would be nice if this had a cool cinematic trailer, they have the money they have a team they could have made one that is all i am saying.

They may have the money and people, but at this point they don't have the time. As for future games, a big cinematic trailer risks setting expectations too high, and unmeetable expectations can kill an otherwise strong game.

Look at all of the flack Peter Molyneux gets. Granted at this point people know that he's over enthusiastic, but the earlier Lionhead games were released to substantial complaints that the final products weren't what gamers had been expecting.

I prefer the announcement trailer. It's much better in terms of composition, music, visuals, etc. If they can pull it off without CGI, that's okay, but I'm not totally opposed to CGI at this point, because we have seen enough gameplay already.

Something like the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GooazR-tmG4 would be great, and it doesn't need CGI.

I hate CGI trailers. You have no idea what the actual game will look like based on them. They drive me crazy...

The trailer in itself was awesome. I didn't even think they needed a CG one. I personally hate when games release a beautiful video of the game, and the game itself doesn't even look half as good.

Really? It's a waste of money, and shows nothing of actual gameplay. Cheers on Bethesda for NOT having one. Also, I think the reveal trailer wakk was CG. Unless that's an actual wall that they filmed. In which case, cheers again!

It was. But I haven't read a review that hasn't mentioned how the game has failed to live up to that emotional gravitas. Those trailers can be incredible (and beautiful), but I think some games run the risk of setting people up for disappointment.

The game looks good enough that A CGI trailer is unnecessary. Also, I and I am sure many others on this forum, would rather see game play footage.

Actually I don't really need another trailer to buy this game, and I don't think Skyrim needs it either.
The 2 trailers that already have been out have done their job very well and attracted the interest of many gamers.

But if there had to be another trailer,I'd prefer more to see some live action trailer.
We already seen how the game is going to be,and I'm fine with it.

So uh, you all do realize that Skyrim already HAS a CGI trailer, right? The FIRST teaser we got for Skyrim LAST YEAR? You know, the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yoXFk-0NrDI&feature=channel_video_title?

To all you CGI haters...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdK2g-UpreE

I win.

The best part about that trailer is that is pretty much how the Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood combat was and was about as involved. You just kinda mash buttons and Ezio takes care of the rest.

That's not CGI, that's just Alduins' wall with Max Von Sydow holding a webcam and babbling.

I can't tell if you're being serious or not, because that's pretty much the definition of what "CGI" means. And in case you didn't know, CGI means Computer Generated Image. And that trailer was generated on the computer.

Another great trailer were the Gears of War trailers. Great music, interesting concept. Anyways. I wouldn't mind seeing a more indepth CGI trailer.

I think anyone with a smallest form of common sense could deduct that CGI trailers are purely for entertainment value only. OF COUUUUUUURSE you can't do everything you see in those types of trailers. Duh.

This is to the people saying they prefer a ingame trailer over a CGI trailer, i will say again what ive said in my previous post since you didn't read what i typed, i like ingame trailers and also CGI trailers so why don't you want both for Skyrim i bet everyone of you will love a cinematic trailer of Skyrim, i mean all of the trailers i posted are really interesting to watch, and yes the game will probably not look like that but it gets you interested in the game, i never heard of Dead Island until i watched that trailer, and i followed the forums of that game and the release and eventually i bought it, so all i am saying is it would have been a nice additional for Skyrim to have a CGI trailer.

Add to that that CGI trailers are solely meant to attract people.

Don't know about you but I'm attracted enough.

We don't. We have the announcement trailer, which is entirely CGI, and the gameplay trailer, which is both made from CGI [i.e. prerendered graphics] and real-time rendered graphics.
