Why doesn't the official SI patch offer option to set the vi

The official Oblivion patch offers this, but not the SI. That's the thing that's wanting me to go back to the Oblivion patch.I need to play the game in very low quality, and you can't do that in the options during the game.

You can if you lauch Oblivion using Oblivion Launcher.exe instead of Oblivion.exe

Or just go find the .ini and change the values to what you want :D.

No, I don't mean it doesn't give me the launch menu, I mean in the options IN in the launch menu, it doesn't have the video quality preset options. You can only change the resolution, disable distant land, ect, but no video quality presets. And how would I go about changing the things in ,ini to make it just like very low quality graphics?

There are several copies of the launcher around (different patches had different versions) and some of them have the presets (they were added in the first patch to allow the Ultra Low setting for Nvidia FX cards that had shader issues) and some do not (original game did not have them and IIRC the GOTY version removed them also) -- http://www.4shared.com/file/0DM-Kr8s/OblivionLauncher.html that I uploaded awhile back for some others that needed it just download and replace your copy with it and use it to launch the game and they'll be back ! I have to use them each time I change my video card drivers as the autodetect detects my ATI 5770 card as an old Nvidia FX57xx card and sets my game to ULTRA-Low and disables all of the shaders every time it runs so I have to use the presets to get back to ultra high instead !
