Why don't you NPCs ever shut up?

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 10:06 am

One thing that really irks me, the NPCs babble CONSTANTLY. I did a quest for the College in Winterhold, and I had to follow an NPC to a dungeon. EVERY time I get anywhere near this idiot, he repeats the same one or two lines.

Same problom in town, it used to be a novelty, but now it's just damn annoying. It would be much more preferable if the NPCs talked much less frerquently. Than it would not be such an aggrivating "feature".

Also this problem is compounded by the fact that I hear the same few lines over and over again everytime I walk within 5 feet of them. Why can't you just say Hello or something?

No one ever shuts up in the real world, so why would they? I guess people will talk [censored] no matter where they're from.
Do as in real life, just ignore them all.

I like being told the arrow in the knee story 100 times, or having Mjoll tell me the same stupid stories over and over and over.

Is it a burden to Lydia the need to tell us that she is sworn to carry our burdens?

I ever tell you about the time Keith tried to deep-fry a turkey? Third-degree burns over 90 percent of his body. His doctor called up, like, other doctors to look at him cause they'd never seen burns on top of existing burns.

yup my helper from Riften always explains her story about being so exciting. Gets very annoying. I sometimes even hear here far away saying the lines over and over.

I inwardly groan every time I have to return to Breezehome for some smithing/smelting because I know I am going to have to put up with Adrianne's constantly repeating the same things over and over and over again. The same for when I run up to Belethor's and that guy says every single time "You know what the problem with Skyrim is these days... " I don't know, maybe the problem is that you people repeat the same line of dialogue ad nauseum until someone lops off your [censored] head?
