Post » Sun May 05, 2013 9:31 pm

Surely we have more than the right to do so after kill harkon and in possession of auriel bow? yet everyone in that castle still treat me as if a newbie

I thought you became the lord of the Volkihar after killing Harkon?

Hmm.

Well technically we become the new lord, but the game design gets in the way. Like with every guild.

but unlike the guilds, those vampire dont even respect you, also the castle seems way too grusome for a vampire castle, those bones make me think of canabals rather than vampires

i wish they can clear up the place, is way too grume *even to a vampire taste* for a home, i mean how can i sleep with all the moaning from cattles and bones around.

also the castle looks as if it is abandoned, doesnt any one at least attempt to clean up all the mess?

Waaahhh I long to restore the Undercroft to it's original, like-new glory. I can't stand seeing it half-destroyed with Draugr everywhere.

Although the Mara statue can go.

I was being serious. Like I'm truly distressed that the Undercroft is decayed and falling apart. I badly want to refurbish it and fill it with more vampire inhabitants.

What? All the vampires at the castle give me new dialogue after defeating Harkon. " I live to serve" when being addressed by Vingalmo for example.

Name me a guild that starts to respect you after you become their leader? they all still have the same dialogue they had when you first joined. 1 or 2 NPCs may have new lines to say but their old dialogue still exists! expect for the dark brotherhood cause of how the questline took course.

Also i did find the castle really cool, unlike Fort Dawnguard. now that is an ugly place.

the castle does have a nice big garden, but can you live with all the bones, blood driping and people feeding on cattles with all the moaning? you dont even get a proper bed. Dawnguard fort was never ment to be a home really.

and why must they protrate vampires like cannabals with all the flesh and bones on table?

It would've been cool to have some end-game stuff for Dawnguard, like being able to set up a vampire cult in the undercroft or something and to restore the castle to its former glory

Every thought that they actually are cannibals and its not just you know a thing saying all vampires are cannibals?

What did you expect? big red roses all over the place? No they are vampires, its supposed to be like that. and you don't get a proper bed because again you are a vampire. you get a coffin instead.

the problem is with other questline, when you become the leader you get the master bed (master coffin in this case). Apparently before serana and her dad break up, the garden was a wonderful place, and her mother said she is going to make the garden better than before, but i havent seen her do anything

The whole thing annoyed me.

"No one will soon forget that YOU were the one to defeat Harkon!"

"Don't get in my way, and I won't tear your arms off. Simple, isn't it?"

And don't get me started on the decor. I tried marking stuff for delete. The rugs. The dust. The rubble. The bones. The blood, some of which was a freaking lighting effect. I deleted a bunch of it, and it made the castle look way better. And then it ALL respawned. I was so pissed. >_<

I'd happily drop 500,000 septims on upgrading Castle Volkihar if such an option existed. As for the leadership issue, most of the Vampires in Castle Volkihar mention you being the new leader in one way or another once Harkon has been defeated.

It would be fantastic if beating harkon opened up some dialog choices with every Volkihar NPC. Something that allows you to assert your lordship and alter their random/common dialog they choose. Such as with the example above, I also found it very irritating.

"Don't get in my way, and I won't tear your arms off. Simple, isn't it?"
  • "Don't threaten the lord of the castle, and I won't pull your head off. Even simpler, isn't it?"
  • "Is that any way to speak to your new lord?"
  • "How would you like to become one of the cattle?"
