Why dont we get the DLC?

Post » Sat Jul 10, 2010 4:12 am

Hi everyone, I'm guessing everyone here know that Xbox 360 is getting exclusive-DLC. What I think, and I know I'm not alone here, ITS BS!!! The game was bug ridden on all platforms(Fixed now), and now only the Xbox gets special treatment???!!! I love Fallout New Vegas, IMO its the best game I've played all year and I would love the game to be expanded in every way because I love it but the Xbox gets something that makes the game better for all of us. All platforms should get this DLC and even add a price to it because I would gladly pay for it! Because I love Fallout, now if Obsidian and/or Bethesda is reading this, please don't leave us in the dark!!! I was looking forward to this game all year, and adding DLC would just be awesome but please bring it to all platforms...Im begging you!!!

News to me. I was under the impression that the 360 was getting the DLCs FIRST, and then they would be released later on the remaining platforms.

If this is true, it's incredibly odd and extremely stupid- just because the PC gets a GECK means that we can't get DLCs? And are they assuming that the PS3, because of it's issues with FO3, should not have any kind of DLC for people to possibly complain about?

I know that gaming companies can make boneheaded decisions, but I seriously doubt that Obsidian/Bethesda would be THAT stupid.

They always say stuff is exclusive, then end up porting it a few months later so don't worry about it. Hell, they're porting Mass Effect 2 to PS3 this January.

This was the same with FO3 and it was later released on ps3. It will probably break the game again just like the DLC with FO3. Just be patient. I honestly would rather have the game patched properly before any DLC is released.

Its a time limited exclusive, just like the DLC for FO3 was, and rumor has it this will happen after the new year. The bug ridden part is not fixed. And considering that, do you really want to give them more of your money for more buggy crap? Best game of the year my ass, this is worse than Modern Glitchfare 2. I seriously suggest you give your money to a company that deserves it.

Hey they were stupid enough to release NV when they [censored] knew it was not ready, so when it comes to the people at Bethesda and Obsidian, there seems to be no limit at to how high their stupidity can reach. :banghead:

The difficulty in that argument is your choice of words, porting insinuates the game has been released primarily for a specific platform and then later on recoded appropriately for other platforms. NV is not a one-platform system, it is multi-platform. Hence there should not be any porting involved, all DLC should be built accordingly to PC, PS3, XBox versions.

As for the BS opinion, you can't say you didn't expect it. FO3 released Anchorage to PS3 almost a year after there release with Micromoney; The Pitt 7 months later; Broken Steel 4 months later; Point Lookout 3 months later and Mothership Zeta 2 months.

What do you expect from a bunch of capitalist-salivating pocket-filling megalomaniacs who would jump into a lions den if it paid them for exclusive rights. It was even more pathetic that they didn't even try to attempt to be sly about it, so when the interviews came around Todd Howard pathetically states:

"Not at this time, no"

It's the same thing that happens with most companies. It's no rocket science, Microsoft pays A LOT of money to get timely exclusives. They'll get it first, the rest of the world will get it later.
Who cares. It just means that PS3 will get a new patch before the DLC. Who knows, maybe the XBOX will get a DLC with an included patch, pay if you wanna get patched! Wouldn't be nice?
So don't start crying right now, like usual, we'll get the same things later.

Personally I'm not getting any DLC this time around, the game is long enough, no need to had 6 hours. Look at Mass effect 2, PS3 users are gonna get the game (probably updated and with better graphics)
with all the download content ever released FREE (and most of it will be included on the disc, for the rest it will be downloadable, also free). So I don't mind waiting.

We'll get the DLC, just not yet. God forbid that PS3 users should get a chance to spend more money on this game. Why can't we PS3 users get equal treatment? Every other game company does it, so why not Bethesda.

It'll come to PC and PS3 soon enough. 360 just gets it first. It always happens like this. They say it's only going to be on one platform and then a few weeks or months later they all get it. Don't sweat it.

I'm much more concerned with whether they are gonna fix this damned game than I am about DLC. Why on Earth would I consider buying new DLC for a game I can't even finish now. As of now I'm completely locked out of the strip because every time I try to enter my PS3 freezes up. I've put FNV away for the time being since I can't advance the storyline any further until they patch this game breaking issue.

I wouldn't bother DLing any DLC even if it was PS3 exclusive and free. What good would it be? Can't even play what I already own....it's BS!

There's already an active thread for discussing the DLC http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1138694-dlc-suggestions-3/.
