Why is Falkreath hostile toward me?

Post » Sat May 18, 2013 1:48 pm

Hi everybody, I was traveling in the direction of Falkreath yesterday, and as I got closer to the city the good old red dots started popping up and they started attacking me. I must have made someone hostile, but I don't know how. This is the first time this has happened to me....I thought they were bandits, until they got up in my face and I realized they were just guards.

Anyone know why they are attacking me? :stare:

Have you committed any crimes in the Falkreath hold? If your bounty is high, guards will automatically attack you on sight. If you're not sure, check your stats and go under the 'Crimes' tab and see if you have a bounty anywhere.

Ahhhhh.... I'll go check. The only possible thing I can think of is I set a Stormcloak hostage free during my travels and the two Imperial guards attacked me and I killed them. Maybe that's what set it in motion. ?

That could possibly be it. I've had something similar happen to me in Eastmarch after murdering some Thalmor agents with no witnesses seeing it happen. Walked into Kynesgrove and the guards were on me. Must be a bug and I don't think it can be fixed unless you load a previous save prior to killing the Imperials.
