Why FPS?

Post » Tue Mar 15, 2011 3:58 am

Don't get me wrong, I love First Person Shooters as much as COD players must, but honestly...looking at all the trailers, this game would be better suited for a third person view, see your parkour moves in action and see the your character in what seems so far from videos to be an awe inspiring landscape.

Uhhh, no, 3rd person shhoter in a CLOSE COMBAT game? I dont think so, and online? That only works for games like gta or GOW

Brink is definitely more suited to be an FPS imo.

Nah, it was built to be a FPS from the begining. I trust their decision. You know since they went through college and learned about this kind of stuff......

Still, no, that would be terrible still and hard to see , your not in open wide areas, your in small areas or corridors and enclosed areas, and with parkour it would be hard to navigate, imagine playing mirrors edge as a TPS.

That's nothing but opinion. I find it hard to believe Treyarch > Splash Damage since Treyarch was able to make TPS mode. It's not even like it'll effect anybody, just a bigger download, but nowadays that doesn't even matter.

So treyarch is a better developer just because they were able to make a TPS mode? Pfft, its easy to make but useless, especially in this kind of game, on pc you probably could make it third person on the computer with one command inputed into the command console, cod is a diffrent game and it has a opend up areas.

Edit: would you really want to be running around a corner and since your cameras behind you, you wont be able to react to the enemy ready to kill you, brink is fast paced and stupid things like TPS would just be idiotic to add.

You disgust me to say treyarch is better then SD.

well the parkour isnt for show or to look cool the parkour is to get around the map as fast as possible and to find different routes to confuse the enemy

I'm saying it since people act like SD isn't able to do it. It wouldn't effect you guys, so why does it matter if it is in or not?

Because
1. Its a dumb idea and wont be used
2. It does not matter if they can do it or not. Its not going to be put in because brink is a fps.
3. Yes it will effect people if its put in, and no one will use it and it will be a waste of time to put in, theres no modes in brink beside singleplayer or multiplayer.

1. Proof?
2. 'Bring is a FPS' is irrelevant, since it'd just be a mode, not the entire game
3. How will it effect people besides a small download size increase? Again, proof that nobody will use it? It could be an option for while you're in singleplayer or binded to a key for it third person view.

Sounds like your talking about pc only, you do realise theres 2 other systems that its being sold on, anyways its a dumb idea theres no point to it, its a fps for a reason, leave the game making to the devs.

Alright I'm done here, the fact that you just said 'leave the game making to the devs' clearly proves you have no idea how games work. Yeah obviously suggestions and feedback are pointless.

My real problem with third-person is that you know when someone's sneaking up on you, so there would be no point to stealth. Instead, everyone's just going to rush and charge the front because hiding will be rendered ineffective.

Not true... depends on the camera positioning. I know that on SOCOM: Confrontation a few times I've been knifed from behind whilst, say, hanging out a window or over a ledge.

Yes. If it's a close camera chase (Gears of War comes to mind), then this is not as much of a problem. On the other hand, the camera angle from Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood makes it too easy to spot incoming adversaries (although responding is another matter entirely).
