WHY GOD WHY

Every time i load this damn game up, there is an error message. So, i uninstall, clean up my mods, and start again, put the mods back together and try and run it smoothly. BUT NO - this game [censored] hates me and is going to make sure that i learn to hate it. Every time there is a problem, something i havent done right. Something will go wrong.

The latest problem is this:

One of the files that "MCA - NOM Patch.esp" is dependent on has changed since the last save.
This may result in errors. Saving again will clear this message
but not necessarily fix any errors.
One of the files that "MCA_NoVivec.ESP" is dependent on has changed since the last save.
This may result in errors. Saving again will clear this message
but not necessarily fix any errors.
One or more plugins could not find the correct versions of the master files they depend on. Errors may occur during load or game play. Check the "Warnings.txt" file for more information.
Expression Error Unable to find faction "8anc_stu" in script nc_get_corpse.

The first bits didn't bother me. But the last bit...what on [censored] earth is that?!?! Im not a technically competent person, i'll readily admit that. How am i supposed to understand that? And apparently that bug is enough to crash the entire game before playing. Due to these "game stopping" bugs i havent been able to play my faviroute game and the greatest game of all time in my own humble opinion for months. Every time i put the mods in i start in fear, awaiting that error message. And it ALWAYS comes. Every single [censored] time. And to be honest i have had it; Morrowind keeps pulling me back because i love it as a game, but if i snapped the disc in half and rammed it up someone's [censored] it would save me a lot of time and energy.

I can't just casually play this game because of errors like this. If someone, anywhere can work out what the [censored] that error message means and what on this entire [censored] earth that means i would be grateful, but the reality is that beyond that error message there would be 10, 20, 30, 40, god know 10000000 more error messages hiding away in the [censored]hole dump that i call the textures folder.

This might seem like just one big pointless [censored] rant and while it has served that purpose, i do have 2 very distinct questions.

1. Anyone have any clue what that message of doom taking the form of "faction "8anc_stu"" is?
2. And if no-one does, are there any more fool-proof ways at all of ME (yes the retard god himself) installing any kind of mod without creating an error message, blowing his computer up and/or bringing about the apocalypse?

No one else seems to have these kind of errors. They just slot the mods in and on they go, fighting baddies in the Ascadian Isles while i try and work out how to [censored] copy and paste load lists from Wyre Mash into here (no, i couldnt even [censored] manage that ladies and gentlemen). What am i doing wrong here?

It's not an English mod, that's probably why.

That last error might (might...) have something to do with http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=4098 (try searching "script nc_get_corpse" on Google and you'll see it's the only one which comes up.)

Maybe you're not using the correct version of MWSE with it, or something?

We all have these problems, Dres. :brokencomputer: I'll try to help. Are you using Wyre Mash? I assume you are because you mentioned it.

Expression Error Unable to find faction "8anc_stu" in script nc_get_corpse.

This error means that one of your mods has a script called nc_get_corpse, which is trying to find a faction, like the Mages Guild, that doesn't exist in your game. Someone else will have to help you with that.

One of the files that "MCA - NOM Patch.esp" is dependent on has changed since the last save.

This is a very common issue. Open up Wrye Mash and look at your mod list. Look at the check boxes, they should all be green. If a check box is not green, it will give the error you have.

Click the mod in the list and look at the mod info on the right, in the bottom box. The check boxes in the bottom box should all be green, too. If they are not, click anywhere inside the bottom box. The colors should change to green. Click the Save button below the box. The mod should now be green, and shouldn't cause any more errors once you've started the game and saved once.

You can help us help you if you post your mod list. Open up your Morrowind.ini file in the game folder, scroll down to the almost-bottom where it says [Games Files] and copy-paste the list here. Hope any of that helps.

That last error might (might...) have something to do with this mod (try searching "script nc_get_corpse" on Google and you'll see it's the only one which comes up.)

I just checked Blasphemous Revenants, and it does have that script, but there aren't any checks for factions anywhere and that faction doesn't even exist in the mod. I'm out of ideas.

As you can tell i was very pissed off at the time of posting. I may have calmed down some. :D

Yeah, i am using Blasphemous Revanents. If that is the source of the problem i may just untick it from the order all together; i dont want to mess up my game for one mod.

Im not familiar with MWSE, is it a separate program? Or am i mental?

Yes, it is. Morrowind Script Extender basically lets the game do complicated things it couldn't do before. If you try to use a mod that requires it, and you don't have it, that can be a show stopper. Blasphemous Revenants requires it to be able to use the mod.

You can either use it "standalone" as just the program, or you can use the one that comes bundled inside Morrowind Graphics Extender. If your computer can handle it, I would recommend using the MGE version, as it comes with many additional features which make Morrowind look very, very good. If you're not into fancy effects, you can just run MGE without turning on the complicated stuff.

Or, if you'd rather just use MWSE standalone, you can find it http://sourceforge.net/projects/mwse/files/Morrowind%20Script%20Extender/Morrowind%20Script%20Extender%200.9.4a/MWSE0.9.4a.zip/download

If you want to try the MGE version, check the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1094925-morrowind-graphics-extender-mge/

So basically my problem is that i wasn't using the right software for the mod i needed?

Wow, thats pretty dumb. There's me attacking this game like it had a personal vendetta against me!

Thanks. :) Hopefully this fixes the problem, but ill leave it open in case anythin springs up (it has a tendancy to with me).

also to stop all the master file has changed yadda yadda stuff. i would get testool and use the update header option under the esp editor part of it. that will make sure your esp's match up to your esm's
