You're doing it wrong.
As many others have said, dwarves are only called so because that's the name the giants game them. The are not tiny, bearded battle axe wielding drunkards. They were highly intelligent, inventive, inquisitive peoples who either ascended to godhood or destroyed themselves by tampering with the Heart of Lorkrahn.
