Why no Imperial Battlemages?

Post » Sat Apr 13, 2013 8:03 am

I always wondered this, Cyrodiil and the Empire are famous for their battlemages, but for some reason, there are none throughout the entire game, well, save those 3 you see in the beginning.....Ive done the CW several times, and I always thought to myself, what a wasted opportunity. Especially when the random face offs between storm cloaks and Imperial soldiers happen, not only are there no battlemages, but the soldiers refuse to use their shields, resulting in them always losing.....Those units are supposed to be a staple of the Legion, yet....they just vanish after the opening scene.....

My Imperial is a battlemage :D

There are also a few though. In Helgen, and

Spoiler
on The Katariah in one of the last missions for the DB, there is a Penitus Oculatus Agent who uses Shock magic + a sword somewhere.

We are up to 5 now! But seriously, they are supposedto be a large part of the Legion......

Most likely.
They could have easily thrown some in with the numerous updates there have been, or with the dlc at least, especially dwanguard, which introduced new enemies, why not some battlemages for the legion guys wandering around....

Spellswords traditionally use weapons too, but the ones in Helgen were dual casting.

A battlemage is one who uses one handed magic we see one in Jophet's Folly,Battlemages are also renowned to be Heavy Armor Masters.

If they do a dlc regarding the civil war, that would be the perfect opportunity to add them.

Two Handed as in Greatswords and Axes??
I doubt it,They are known for elemental magic and Conjuration and Using one handed Swords and Axes at least according to most of the In game Class descriptions..

Here is hoping, because that is one of their main strengths, their flexibility between light armor scouts, heavy armor soldiers, and battlemages.

It doesn't matter between One or Two Handed.

Older game description list them as primarily using Two Handed.
