Why isn't Skyrim immensely popular?

Post » Sat Oct 15, 2011 8:43 am

Do you think Todd would be offended if we started a cult to worship him? O_O

And great job on the cancel order convincer. The less money these big game companys that just spew out generic rubbish get, the better.

I have a model Todd in my closet made out of chewed bubblegum, bottlecaps, and broken dreams.
Dreams that I will never get to one day shake his hand and never wash mine again.
Damn restraining orders. :sadvaultboy:

Ahem. Back OT: Where were we again? :homestar:

I'm glad Skyrim isn't as popular, could you Imagine all of the CoD kids on these forums?

Yay for elitism. Can we start checking IQ and PC specs at the door before we let people into the forums now, too?

(I seriously think there's a need for a gamers' version of Godwin's Law, just with Call of Duty instead of the Nazis)

I'm sure Bethesda would be happy to have all the COD fan buy TES financiary wise, but don't jinx us with such toughts ! :toughninja:

Then we'd have more trolls all over the forums about how there are no bullets and how quests are not simple/linear enough.

I personnally LOVE CoD (Infinity Ward's installments only) because I'm a "fan" of guns and the military (dad was a Marine), but having all the kiddies who think that a three-barreled weapon would be "cool" in our TES gaming universe would really svck. They'd whine about nearly everything, as my brother-in-law does.

He also likes Black Ops and Wolrd At War.... Froob-cake he is.

I don't think Talos meant this seriously. At least I did not take it seriously.

I was wondering about the same thing as OP. There are
not much people that know about Skyrim. At least in germany.

Many heard of it, but most of them dont even know its an Elder Scrolls game.
But i think it will be funny to see how the game takes over the
market after 11.11.11. :obliviongate:

people will come to know how epic skyrim is after release

I believe there will be a boom of sales on release and another boom sometime after the price drops its first increment and word of mouth works its magic on the uninformed.

I hope so because I cant think of a word to use when you discriminate someone for liking a particular game.

I went to the cinema and the Skyrim trailer came on. The majority of people in there, including me, stood up and cheered.

Not popular over here what-so-ever. Its all CoD and Zelda over here. I don't get it. TES games are the best games ever in my honest opinion.

great things are NEVER popular. only mediocre things are bland enough to appeal to so many people at once.

Its quite simple, Kids like guns, find out about cod, beg they're mother to buy it for them, they get brainwashed, and I'm glad Skyrim isn't as popular, could you Imagine all of the CoD kids on these forums?

"MMMMAAAAAAAN Beth, nect elder scrols gam u mus put ak-47 and rocketlonchers!)

I hate to agree with you but it is true.. this is why I avoid Halo and CoD... just a bunch of whiny brats playing a game that they are too young to play.

It's more popular among advlts, not school-age kids.

Mostly because the franchise has been around sense we were kids. Its also one of the few traditional single player free roaming RPGs* left.

*pathed games are NOT free roaming.. die in a fire fable. (and soon to be, the reckoning.)

I'm in my Senior year of high-school, I play plenty of CoD and Halo: CE got me my first XBOX.

I found Morrowind, and have loved this series ever since.

But for the most part, today, you are correct. Anyone below a sophomore in high-school at the moment is not interested in this series.
