Why isn't my water showing up ?

Post » Sat Mar 19, 2016 7:48 pm

So I just started a new play through, an ex Scotch Irish cop named Mick Valentine (Human Nicks partner/brother) and because I'm going to be using a lot of ammunition I of course built some industrial water purifiers at sanctuary(126) I only have the six followers, and so far I've wanted days, and even done some things outside of sanctuary to pass time, and I still don't have my excess water. I even took all other aid items out just to make sure, including all the water I already had in it.

Glitch or am I doing something wrong?

its a glitch that can happen, has happened to me on all my games and always/only sanctuary

the only way ive got it to work again is to put some purified water into the workbench to seed it, this seems to force it to start producing again

scrapping/rebuilding storing/replacing etc never seemed to work, just put a couple of purified waters into workbench. goi somewhere else for a day and it should be producing again

kinda like push starting a manual

edit: also dont leave water in there, the water purifiers do not add water they overwrite it and it gets drunk too, everytime you are there take the water out and store in another container

Forget about Sanctuary. That place is doomed. Try Taffington Boathouse and Spectacle Island for lots and lots of water. Even if there are no settlers living there, by placing Industrial Size Purifiers you'll get a decent amount of water every time you access the workbenches. Good Luck!

Don't forget Nordhagen beach. I got 999 water there with no placement problems.

I Have done that, along with just one big purifier anywhere there is even just a little water. I really don't want to have to put a bunch of water pumps up in my settlements with no water, because I feel too many of them ruin the look of the settlement. Heck on one play through It always says that I have like 1000 water but at almost every settlement I go to I only have like 20 or none , except for the castle which will produce 75-200 in a day or 2, but I just started this play through, and really need the money, because I'm investing my perk points specifically for the type of play through I'm doing, so I haven't been doing too much settlement building, and so far have made most of my money by selling tools and the 38 ammo, but now I don't have enough defense or money to buy things for my defenses to protect my water purifiers, and I like having my settlers happy.

using industrial water purifiers or combining that with the space you can put the water pumps on?

I'm having the same issue, only its with spectacle island. I've noticed it seems to happen every time happiness drops below 50%, which infuriatingly happens now any time I leave for more than 5 minutes. Patch 1.4 has ruined my end game. It wouldn't bother me so much had they not patched the dogmeat dupe glitch. Now settlement building has become a f2p cell phone mobile game grind that I am quickly getting tired of.

How much is your defense though, because I had my water purifiers on another character destroyed when I didn't show up, and I had a perimeter line of missile launchers guarding them on bridges so they couldn't just walk up and hit them I don't want to go over kill on the water purifiers there, and then have to fix them all when they get attacked

The best way to run a water farm is to build the Purifiers at a settlement with no settlers. My favorite is the Drive In. I place two industrial Purifiers and three or for smaller ones and a generator to run them. I have never had the Drive In attacked once I started doing that. No defenses at all.

Any settlement with standing water and no settlers will work. If you don't mind a bit of murder you can even do it at places like Nordhagen Beach. Just kill the two advlt settlers and the kid will run off to never return. Presto, one settlement with no gltichy settlers to muck things up.

sanctuary produces water, i have had the glitch where nothing is produced,i just emptied the workbecnh but honestly that hasn't happened to be in months, i have 8 purifiers at sanctuary every playthrough, i also have some water pumps, since i also use some pumps it seems to make sure the purifiers work, cause since i started adding 7 or 8 pumps in addition to the 8 purifiers i never had the water glitch since then and like i said its been a couple months since i started doing that, but yeah you can use some other spots just for water. i usually have 8 purifers at sanctuary and 8 at the castle, the other locations with water ponds or whatever like the drive in or taffington i usualy just put one purifier.

One time i had around 30 purified waters in my inv after doing a few quests. I stuck them in workshop at abernathy farm and they just vanished. Whats all that about? I thought well, maybe the settlers drank it all lol.....but since i have like 15 workshops all connected via supply line, why would they use water i FOUND.
