Why do I keep crashing?

So here's the problem, I tried to fast travel to Sideways cave to check out some new cave textures I downloaded and my game crashed. So I try traveling to the prison sewer exit and Vilverin and the same thing. Even walking to there from the west side of the island my game crashes just as I reach the sewer exit. My game was working fine there the other day. The only thing I've changed since then is adding Imperial City expanded and Amp's Oblivion makeover and cave textures. The game was working fine with the oblivion makeover textures. As far as I know I haven't changed or added anything that should be affecting that area. It just started happening for no reason.

Try uninstalling your latest additions and loading then.

Sounds like it's the IC expansion.

I'll try that but that only deals with the inside of the IC. I don't see how that could affect an area out side of the IC.

DUDE WTF!!!! So I went and deactivated the mod rebuilt my bash patch and everything seems fine. I don't get how a mod that doesn't and SHOULDN'T deal with that area outside the city can cause my game to crash on that side of the city. It's weird too because things worked just fine with it before.

1. The All Nautral Weather 0.9.9.5 must be reinstalled, because the All Natural - Real Lights.esp have missing masters

3. You need to run http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20516 to fix the loadorder

I can tell you exactly what's wrong with your loadorder.


1. The All Nautral Weather 0.9.9.5 must be reinstalled, because the All Natural - Real Lights.esp have missing masters

2. The UOP is outdated and here is the latest http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1112327-relz-unofficial-oblivion-patch-320-thru-3210-supplemental-patches-hotfixes-uomp-knights-updates-relz/

3. You need to run http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20516 to fix the loadorder

4. Install http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22368 and rebuild the bashed patch


If there is anything else you need our help with just ask. :)

1. Didn't know it was out of date

2. Updated to 3.2.10

3. I run BOSS every time i add a new mod or remove one.

4. Wrye Bash is up to date as of Sunday

As soon as my bash patch is done I'll try it out and see if things work.

Well I've gone the last 3 or 4 days without any crashes but today I've started getting CTD's around Weynon Priory and when ever I fast travel to Battlehorn Castle. I was fine this morning I could fast travel or walk from Battlehorn to the IC and back but now I keep crashing when walking past the priory or fast traveling to my home in battlehorn. Only things I've added were a couple of companion mods.

I doubt it's causing your problem (since I did clean it before submitting it), but I'd still suggest moving it to load just after Snowdale, keep things tidy, ya know? :wink_smile:

yeah I guess the newest BOSS update isn't out yet. I've had that for about a week now? I don't know why the newest installed mods would cause a problem but I guess I'll have to deactivate them and activate one at a time. At least it's only a few.

Just read the last few pages of comments. Broken mod that one.

But that may not even be your real issue. The mistake you are making is trusting. You trust that because a mod description says that the mod only does A, B, C that it truly does only those three things and not also X,Y, Z. Unintentional edits, dirty edits, wild edits can cause chaos - especially when in conjunction with other mods. Readmes are the minimum reading - go to the comments and forums for user feedback.

I so wish that my first thread was archived - what a hoot that would be to read now. I accused everyone with a load order of over 200 of being liars and challenged them to prove it. Also featured in that thread was an argument between modders that I adore to this day. Uggh. And of course my being dressed down by one of the most obtuse posters this forum has ever seen. Comedy in hindsight.

Modding this game takes patience and fortitude to stick it out. So many times I've complained and belly ached about this or that load order posting my own in hopes that someone would fix it for me when the only thing that worked was disabling sections of mods sometimes down to one at a time, rebuilding the bashed patch repeatedly, then after finding what I thought was the problem mod and loading the rest up only to find it was a problem in relation to another mod or that I had two or three mods that were problematic.

That is not even touching the subject of mod cleaning and learning to install the game correctly, configure the settings, modding to system specs, etc.

You're right I'm an idiot. I went back and looked at my game and I was crashing right when everybody said that bug was happening. Well guess I can't use that till it's fixed.
