Why kill cams on players are silly.

People are going to come to this and say kill cams arent cheap its challenging. No it is not. Kill cams are cheap because:

-They make health pointless.

Lets say I have a character with 200 HP and Im fighting an enemy with can can activate a kill cam when you're at 150 health, well wtf, what about my other 150 HP? I know what people are going to say here, "but enemies can be powerful too, and they should be able to one shot you" and I agree with you. Enemies should be able to one shot you if they are powerful enough, but land the hit please. As it is now you get locked into a death animation with no way out.

-Dice rolling is stupid

Don't dice roll and lock into me a death animation, that's corny as hell. Give me a chance to fight the damn thing. "I had stamina i could've bashed him out of his power attack, WTF?" And instead a game of dont die, it becomes a game of dont let my health fall below this level because the dragon, or whatever enemy you want to say, rolled his invisible die and said "Sorry I don't make the rules champ." Then bodies your character.

There's nothing more frustrating as player than the game taking control out of your hands, because its a factor in almost every fight.

last I checked, Kill Cams are only triggered when the blow is going to kill you anyways..
as such, I don't fully comprehend your argument..

Kill cams are only triggered when the blow is going to kill you anyawys...

...if the blow would kill you if you had no armor

...if the blow would kill you if you had no elemental resists

...if the blow would kill you if you didn't have your shield up

...if the blow would kill you if you were standing out int he open right in front of them

The killcam disregards all those mitigating factors.

My rule of thumb before I defanged killcams against the Player with Dance of Death was "If your health is below 50% when facing a dragon, you *WILL* get bite-thrash-toss killcam'd. No exceptions."

Um but the blow never hits you. You just get locked into an animation when the game calculates that the blow can kill you. You don't get a chance to dodge, or bash or do anything to save your life. Once you reach a certain point of health with an enemy, its an instant kill whether they would have hit you or not.

I think the whole kill cam thing is silly, and it's certainly detrimental to roleplay. Not all characters are going to make some badass finishing move when they kill, especially if it's an enemy they respect. It's juvenile and tiresome, and when you've seen it a few times, it gets old.

I don't like anything that interrupts the flow of the game, especially things that turn my character's game into a cinematic scene.
