why maiq the liar will not be in skyrim

Post » Sat Jul 31, 2010 10:54 pm

Well, a false god, actually. He is a Liar after all. He would never admit to being a god, unless he did, in which case it's only to confuse you-- or is it?

Wow :shocking: .. maybe he's ascended pure lying as well.
Moved into meta lying, as most of what he talks about in Oblivion is mockery of us rather than lies it would make sense.
I don't lie because nothing is truth in a game, realism is not playing.

See, there is this whole problem with text. If you do not use a visual way to display your sarcasm, whether that's italics, smileys , or certain phrases, there is no way to "recognize" sarcasm. Since text lacks, you know, the tone of sarcasm.

Really, I thought the point of sarcasm was to be intended to be missed by the one it was aimed at.
Then what do I know I never use emoticons.

If the op had sarcasm intended then this thread is just spam, you can't seriously discuss this. In that hr is an Easter egg so he can appear in skyrim, otherwise he isn't an elf and would be dead period.

M'aiq survives by becoming a vampire. Vincente of the Dark Brotherhood is a Breton and he was alive as a vampire for hundreds of years.

Which is why he changed to robes and hood in Oblivion...to protect himself from the sun. Oh, we're onto you, M'aiq...

In 200 years, everyone from previous TES games will be dead.

Except everyone with a lifespan exceeding 200 years, so most elves. There are others as well, I'm just going to keep it short: You are wrong. I will let you figure out why yourself.

Besides, M'aiq is an easter egg and more importantly a fun character, who cares how he could be alive, why is that important?

I'm sure the Devs will throw us fan boys a bone in the form of a Maiq Easter Egg of some sort.

Probably a skeletal corpse with a note

Or maybe a descendant called 'Naiq' or 'Vaiq' who babbles on about a long-lost great grand father....

Why so negative? Vampires live forever, why shouldn't maiq be able to cheat death, after all he knows many things others do not.

Obvious solution he became a vampire, yes he could also get cured before we meet him. :celebrate:

A Khajiit calling himself M'aiq the Liar will still be present. Is he telling the truth when he says he's the same M'aiq? Perhaps, perhaps not. Look around, hell Oblivion has frozen over, so why shouldn't he be the same one?

If the Dev's want something like this in, all they have to say is this. "Screw the rules, we have money!"

Besides, dead things becoming ghosts isn't exactly a knew idea.

"Son of M'aiq the Liar" (or in this case, great grandsone of M'aiq the Liar.
(you have to wonder who his wife was, and why she believed him when he said he loved her and wanted to marry him, but that's another story).

There is no reason he cant be in skyrim. the inhabitants of nirn can extend their lifespan. If you think that everyone from the previous games is dead then you dont know squat about lore.

Could be a ghost? He would talk like the forlorn watchman. With a reverb effect or something.

M'aiq knows everything! He might be a Khajiiti aspect of Sheogorath, or some ubergod who created Mundus.

Either that, or I hope he'll have a grandson by the name of W'aiq the Deceptive!

M'aiq: "Anyone can make a potion to live forever. All you need are the gills of a unicorn, the feathers of a turtle, the ears of a sload and the egg of a dragon. The egg isnt really needed, but M'aiq likes the taste."
