There's a way around everything. :P
M'aiq: 'Be careful around dragons, they are fragile. M'aiq broke one and ended up here!'

Yep.
M'aiq isn't just some random Khajiit.
He's like a demigod or something....
I personally believe he is a "Liar" servant of Lorkhan the Padomaic...

Aw I hadn't thought about it that way. However some races have a better life span like an Elf could still be alive in 200 years from the last game. Don't suppose khajits have that sort of shelf life though.

Divayth Fyr was 4000 years old at the time of Morrowind.
200 years is nothing.

I agree I doubt that M'aiq will be in Skyrim but it is possible for some of the races to live 200+ years. Look at carrahil in Oblivion she took on the Benirus guy almost 100 years earlier and she still looks young in present day Oblivion.

Llies!

I refuse to believe that we won't see M'aiq!

Maybe the grandchild of M'aiq?

Skyrim would be empty without him. :(

because she is an Elf..... Elves in TES do that... Kahjiit don't. The only reason he could still Show up is because as stated he is an Easter egg.

M'aiq as an easter egg? I think it's very possible that Dagoth Ur scared M'aiq out of Morrowind and that's how he came to Cyrodill.

If Beth has any reason for deep 6ing maiq, it wouldn''t ever be continuity. I would not be surprised at all if Maig the liar was in skyrim.

Considering he is a easter egg and thus not constricted by the laws of the lore.... He could certainly be in the game.

But..but he has to be. ;o; I've already been trying to guess the types of things he'd bring up! That time will have been wasted if he's not there!

Considering that the crowd on the BGS forums has little to no sense of humour and includes some of the most inept people at recognising sarcasm I've ever encountered on the internet, people should really stop making joke topics (they're going to waste).

Why so negative? Vampires live forever, why shouldn't maiq be able to cheat death, after all he knows many things others do not.

I really think he'll be in. There's no reason he wouldn't be.
Yeah, sure, he's an easter egg. But, he also has a reasonable explanation in the lore if you know it....

Untill 200 years irl has passed M'aiq will be around.
By that time, you'll be dead, I'll be a floating skull with a fetish for zombies with tails, and M'aiq will be the one true god of this planar reality.

Well, a false god, actually. He is a Liar after all. He would never admit to being a god, unless he did, in which case it's only to confuse you-- or is it?

See, there is this whole problem with text. If you do not use a visual way to display your sarcasm, whether that's italics, smileys :P, or certain phrases, there is no way to "recognize" sarcasm. Since text lacks, you know, the tone of sarcasm.

Combined with the fact that some people on this forum actually do believe and have stated this idea before I don't really think it is that far out to assume he was not using sarcasm. (whether he is or not)

No, tone can be gauged somewhat by the ridiculousness of what others are saying. And if it's ambiguous? Err on the side of caution - this is the internet after all.
