Why is C2 more enjoyable?

Post » Wed May 18, 2011 9:14 pm

I'm gonna start this off by saying I'm a huge FPS fan. I enjoy the CoD series, the Battlefield series, and moderately enjoy the Halo series. However, lately I've been finding that my desire to play the aforementioned games...lacking, if will. The kills haven't been satisfying and the deaths are downright annoying.

But when I pop Crysis 2 in all of the frustration and annoyance I've had with other games goes away. I have a fairly similar class setup as I do in my CoD classes (Blind Spot to avoid radar, acogs on assualt classes, silencers on snipers, you get the idea basic stuff) yet I've been enjoying this over CoD so much more. Outside of the armor and cloak the games have a fairly close game play. Run and gun or camp and hide (depending on your personal style).

What makes this game more enjoyable than the other FPS out there? I just can't put my finger on it. Oh, on more thing, I know it's not that you have to pick up the dogtags as I use Retriever on all classes.

I don't know what it is... But this game makes me rage so much but as soon as I have played a few games or so, I start to enjoy it. Not sure of what it is, but I think there is some sort of subliminal message saying "Enjoy this game, you WILL like it" flashing every .0.2ms on the screen so that your brain registers it lol.

But I agree, it's a good game.

And as for DanTheGamer11, retriever isn't a bad module, it's better and more useful than the other ones; I don't care about the killstreaks I'm just trying to rack up a few dog tag collections. :D, and plus, if it's a bad module why would they put it in? :P

This game would be enjoyable if it the net code worked well... then other things would be more enjoyable... by retriever I meant campers! but you use it so less likely... also prevents you from running into the middle of map and getting shot lol

I think I know what it is. Its the frustration factor removal. See in games like CoD/BF if you want to move over open ground people see you no problem and take you down.If you try to make your way around the map 90% of the time there is a camper waiting for people. In C2 the cloak gives you that chance to cover the open ground unseen. And camping in C2 is a terrible idea simply due to the pace of the game and size of the maps. On top of that, the weapons in C2 are very well balanced and all have a fair chance of taking someone down.

So when you play C2 its a completely different mind set, more like high speed parkour combat than CoD of BF's more languid playstyle.

I like to use the retriever, but I don't use the machine guns or SMG's, I use the Sniper or Gauss Rifle with an Assault Scope which is great for running about with... Although I am a little pissed that the Gauss does the same damage as a DSG-1, which is stupid... It should be 1 Hit Kill, it does boast a full bar damage rating...

Although running about with Snipers and Majestic pistol is fun, it gets you a LOT of deaths... But, still, fun none-the-less.

Stop blaming the net code.

All power modules are pretty powerful. If I was allowed three power modules I would of done it a long time ago. Your always giving up something useful when your picking Power Modules unlike the other two slots. If they can balance the Armor Slot and Stealth slot like they have done with the power I think this game would be perfect.

Most power modules are useful, I would agree with that.

However I disagree that the other's do not have modules that are overly useful over others. For most situations, Energy Transfer III can be a considerable loss to pick another module, and Stealth Enhance III can be a considerable loss to a pick another module. I've ranked up almost all of my other modules in all categories, but I have a dislike of using other modules, except for Air Stomp III in certain cases and Nano Recharge III in certain cases.

Stop blaming the net code.

Why should I if its true? Ever since they started modifying it has gotten better and worse... what else should we blame then? Not ping cause mine is great...

Crysis 2 is pretty stress free even though the lag is terrible... maybe we have gotten used to it?
