I don't play many female characters. It's just habit. I actually really couldn't care less about what gender I am. :confused:

I play as both, but I play as male characters more often than not. I think that's the same situation as most male gamers, and a few female gamers.

My guess for the reason people like to play female characters is that it either doesn't matter, the models are better, the animations are better, or they play in 3rd person and don't want to stare at a burly man for hours on end.

I can relate to that. I eventually changed my male undead rogue in WoW to a female orc, for both practical and aesthetic reasons. A bony zombie ass isn't very appealing.

I'll make a female character every now and then though, usually after I've played a game a lot and wanna try something different.

I don't really give it much thought; it seems boring to restrict myself to half the character creation choices right off the bat. I've only played a male character so far in Skyrim though.

Nah. I got one the option for the face with no blemishes or wrinkles, and blue eyes. Call me weird, but that orc was kinda hot.

Why does it matter? Does the character somebody you'll never see in your life make effect you in any way, shape, or form? It's a single-player game, which is a good thing. The things other people do don't change your game, or how you play, so just ignore it, or live and let live.

i prefer to play female character's on rpg's most of the time there the ones with the lowest stats and you have to work to build them up. most of the other games out nowdays you have to play as a male character its good to have a change once in a while.

I generally play female characters because when I make their back story I find it that I'm more sympathetic towards them and I become more involved.

As a doctor(pediatric endocrinology) i deal with patients with six/gender issues on a daily basis. As i said you have no idea what youre talking about - imagine a teenager who lived "his/her" current life as a girl and then during exam, gynecologist discovers that "she" has no ovaries, no uterus etc and has blind [censored]. Karyotype test also proves that "she" is genetically a male. Now go tell her that from now on "she" will be a boy and "gender doesnt define her identity" so its no problem at all.

I think most people actually play their own gender, but there are exceptions of course.

My boss plays games, and especially on third person games he plays a female whenever possible - the reason he gives is rather simple. If he's going to spend hours upon hours of staring at a game character's ass, he'd rather it be female.

Although, as I understand the condition from previous reading, there may be hormonal imbalances that may cause difficulties, and she will never be fertile, there is absolutely no reason she should have to change her life or her identity just because of the shape of her 26th chromosome. Everything about her is exactly the same after that test as it was before that test. There is no reason she should not be considered a "she", just as she always had been before that test. Genetics do not dominate a person's life.
