Why a new expansion is difficult for Beth

Post » Mon Mar 25, 2013 3:43 am

Ok first i will say that obviously i want a new expansion as the vast majority of Skyrim players does.
BUT there is that huge problem that is called leveling. Right now Skyrim with the new expansions has many things to do. My current hero easily reaches level 80 without even doing all things in the game.If you add all the quests, and skill books and the quests that raise your skills its awfully easy to reach level 80. This is a big problem for a new expansion. Unless they remake somehow leveling system a new big expansion seems as something needless from leveling prespective

Take a look at the patch 1.9 notes.

Edit: Heres the bit of interest (as far responding to this topic goes); Legendary Skills - Skills of 100 can be made Legendary. This will reset the skill to 15, return its Perks and allow the skill to affect leveling again. This effectively removes the overall level cap.

I didn't realize leveling up was the point of expansions. I thought it was supposed to further the story.

It's not the levels that are important, but the adventure that is to be had. Leveling has next to nothing to do with it at all, I'm sure.

You mean that as soon as i reach destruction for example to 100 it resets and i must raise it again to 100? Well its a sollution but i find it a bit annoying to have to raise the skill again

I didn't know that leveling up was the point of anything in this game.

You don't have to, no. Its simply an option for those who wish to make use of it.

Edit: Just to be clear, you don't have to as in when a skill reaches 100 you have to manually opt to reset it to 15, it doesn't automatically go back to 15.

1. TES isn't designed from a "leveling perspective."
2. Easy to get to 80? Er. K.

Eh....I've been playing since release and haven't reached level 80 with any of my characters. As others have said...leveling is not the point of the game, let alone any expansion.

its awfully easy to reach level 80.

Lol no it's not if you play normally. I only ever had a single character reaching lv 81 for the sake of spending too much free time I had at the time and it was a pain in the ass, a pain that I will never repeat again. I personally don't care one bit for their new patch cause I'm not that [censored] to build a skill up to level 100 and then reset it back to 15 only to raise it again. I guess it's a good option for people who want to "respec" without making a new character though.

Legendary Skills - Skills of 100 can be made Legendary. This will reset the skill to 15, return its Perks and allow the skill to affect leveling again. This effectively removes the overall level cap.

Yeah, I still don't understand their poor choice of the word "legendary", how on earth is a skill decreased back from lv 100 to lv 15 without a single bonus to it (other than being able to raise it back for more levels) legendary? There's absolutely nothing legendary about that. :P
